Beating the breathalizer that the police have for drinking, can it be done?

On the program they try many different ways to see if a drinking person could beat the breathalizer. Here are a few things they tried, it is said that sucking on a penny because of it's properties will work. It did not. Holding a battery such as a AA, C size, etc. battery to your tongue for 5 minutes will work, it did not. Chewing gum will help hide the fact you are drinking, it did not. Keeping a mouth wash in your vehicle will work if using it when pulled over, it did not work. In fact, it made the machine register higher...because as much as 25% of them the mouth wash is alcohol. This made it worse. The police were asked what can be done to beat it. They said nothing. As far as I know and it's been done...is to have someone that is not drinking breath into the machine. This is the only way to beat it. What are your thoughts on this, have you ever heard of anything to do to beat the machine? Have you ever tried to beat it yourself? I have not as I don't drink, at least not enough to amount to anything. About once every 2 or 3 years I will have a drink of Dark creme de coaco with milk. Or the concoction that my doctor said I had to make up to take when I have a bad cough. It is wiskey (at least 90 proof), lemon, and honey. Taking 1 tablespoon every 4 hours really did work. So now, I'm just curious what is your take on this subject? Thank you for all responses.

I have heard all these stories to beat a breath test and really didn't believe they would work. I recently saw a show like this that proved the theories wrong. I don't remember now though if the one I watched had anything that beat it or not. I also don't drink very often so I would have no clue what theories are out there now. I used to be a party girl back in the day but now if I drink it is once in a blue moon and I won't be driving when I do it. No need to trick a breathalyzer here. Wow I never thought I would see the day when I could say I am a responsible adult. I guess it gets to us all eventually LOL.

Hello travi. I am the same way as you. I never was a big drinker though. It's just something I never felt the need or want to do. I just drank when I went out with someone and not much then. I believe we all become responsible at some point in our lives. Most most mothers and some fathers earlier. Although some don't until they are well into their 30's and 40's. Thank you for responding.

yes, you are absolutely right. The next best thing if you think you must drink is to have another person that has not been drinking to drive when you do. Thank you for your response.

you drink, you breathe, you face the consequences. there is no way to beat it, other than opt not to take it, and they will provide you with a 'room' at a real nice 'bed and breakfast'.

Hi there, What an interesting topic! I've heard that sucking on an onion will beat a breathalyzer, but who's gonna have an onion just lying around in there car? Did Mythbusters try adulterants such as vinegar or hydrogen peroxide mouth rinse? I've heard a drop of visine in a urine test will not register correctly either. Sorry, off the topic lol. meow & ciao!
