I'd rather go for a laptop coz of the wireless technology nowadays, I could easily be online anywhere if I have a laptop.

Well by far I think a normal pc wins this, because its way more cheaper and you might get better parts for much less money than you get in a laptop. Same if the computer break, its easy to replace yourself or just upgrade the computer. Still laptop is better when it comes to move around, but its get alot more expensive if you want it to be a good laptop for gaming and etc.. So for me a statinoary computer wins easyy.

I too prefer a laptop for the same reason. I can use it in any room and take it with me if I have to travel somewhere.

I much prefer a desktop as opposed to a laptop! With laptops you don't have much ability in the way of expansion and upgrades. With desktops however, you can mess around inside and fill up any spare slots with a video card or other things. I have never had a laptop although I do agree, they are very convenient when it comes to travel and so forth. If a laptop and a desktop are the same as regards specifications then you will find yourself paying more for the laptop. Andrew

I think it is important to first known what is the kind of UCG will have and then decide whether you need a desktop computer or a laptop. The main difference is that if you have a work which is more mobile than definitely laptop is the only solution to that. But by any chance if your work doesn't require a lot of mobility rather a lot of stability than I guess there's a computer is the only solution for you. I have used both of them and I personally experienced that the dust computers are definitely more durable and heavy duty done the laptops. Their stock computers do not get heated so quickly and that is one major advantage over the last more laptops. The upgradation and repairing cost of the stock computers lot cheaper and easy than the laptops which can be carried heavy on your pocket. The screens are smaller and so if you have something which requires intense clarity and magnifications than their stock computers are definitely the only solution. Upgradation will give you a lot of options as there are a lot of hard lessons of its available for dust of computers which are not so famous for laptops. Does he have a constant maintenance and inspection facility with your desktop which is not so common wheat laptops.

if i were a real gamer, i would prefer a desktop. but since i'm not, i would choose laptop (if i could afford one). although it lacks the ability to be upgraded in some of its component, i think i won't make much of a difference this days. plus, laptop uses less electricity than that of a desktop. check the voltage on your laptop charger and compare it with a desktop. you could really save a lot

i have my desktop right now...but can i say both..coz in desktop i can easily edit photos, layout..and a lot of stuff..while in laptop it is to take everywhere you go, it's handy...with built in speaker and cam.... there is both advantage and disadvantage....

I like to have a desktop computer than laptop. Because it gives more flexibility than laptop. I can use it harshly without any problems whereas laptop is not like that. Laptop will be helpful when I go outside.

I have both and love both for different reasons. My pc I love for my graphics and the online games I play, but my laptop I love cause I can take it just about anywhere with me :)

I'd prefer laptop for its size. Whereas, PCs have way better specification than a laptop.

This is a pretty good discussion because computers are very important in peoples lives nowadays since almost everyone is on the internet for one reason or another especially since so many things can be done on the internet now,for example you can do your Christmas shopping online, you can check your bank statements online, you can make money online at sites like mylot and other sites, you can meet new people online especially people who are looking for their soul mate,me and my fiance first started talking on myspace, and a lot of other things, and I am sure there are a lot of people out there who prefer the desktop over the laptop either because it is what they have always used and they do not like change,or because they like the stability of it staying in one place,or because they like using a mouse, and keyboard that is more comfortable, and then I am sure there are a lot of people who prefer laptops over desktops either because they like the convenience of being able to take them where ever they go,or because they like the fact that they are smaller and do not take up as much room as a desktop,or for other reasons, and I have always used a desktop ever since I was a kid,and I never though I would be the type to use a laptop because I thought they were just too much of a waste of time, and a while back me and my fiance bought a laptop from an ex friend of ours, and I am glad we did, right now I will use my parents desktop, and my fiance will use our laptop and we will both spend several hours a day mylotting our fingers off to try and make money since we are saving four our wedding which is set for next September, and I will use the laptop from time to time, and we want to try and get another laptop so that way we will both be able to use a laptop so we will be able to mylot and do other things online from the comfort of our own bedroom while watching television,or while being in the den, while watching television, even though at least the way it is we can make money and be together.

I prefer laptop the PC. Laptop use less power then PC, that mean you will pay less for your electricity and also you do need to prepare a special desk for it. With its portability, you bring your whole computer with anywhere and connected thru free connection then widely available now. BR

If you need to carry it around, laptops wins both hands down. But other than that purpose, you might wanna opt for desktops. It's worth less for a better performance for what you'll be paying for a laptop.
