I turned on the news just a little while ago and there was nothing but bad news, sad news, terrifying news, you name it... if it was bad, it's on the news.
Does anyone have any GOOD stories to share with us? It doesn't have to be a big news story and it doesn't even have to be a story that the media would consider "news worthy". Just anything GOOD! Please!!!

I wrote about something wonderful that happened in a store while I was shopping. Everyone showed some Christmas spirit.

Hmm... I do not know of any good news just yet.
I too am getting fed up with listening to the news.
So many problems that are reported are created by people themselves. Yet they do not for one moment think about what their actions are doing to other people.
No one is willing to take a step back to settle things amicably.
Sigh... Hope with the turn of the new year, things will improve.

Well, I am also hoping that is the case.
All we can do now is to look forward towards the new year.
Just in this morning in the headlines. Maybe you can consider this a good news.
Obama, the new president will be planning to create 3 million new jobs.
Up from his previous promise of 2.5 million new jobs.
Now, it is a matter of how and when he is going to deliver on his promise.

I'm sure that if the economy gets better, people will have better attitudes, generally speaking. There will ALWAYS be those who never think positively and love dwelling in their negativity, sad to say.
But, hopefully, with the new year coming, it just might give people hope and, along with that hope, a new wave of optimism will sweep over the world. I know it sounds far-fetched, but it COULD happen, right?

Hi MW..that is one reason I don't bother watching the news or reading the paper, because of all the doom and gloom there is in there...I agree it is good to know what is going on in the world but not to the extent of bad news every day...not watching the news etc helps me to keep a positive mind about things and to think that way to...hugs littleowl

I agree, littleowl! It's going to be awhile before I turn the news on again, for sure! I'll get what I need from my MSN homepage from now on. At least there, I have a choice of reading about good news or bad news and it's not pushed in my face.
Happy Holidays, littleowl!

Well, thank you, legend. I have to admit that the new year doesn't mean anything to me except that we have to write a new year on our checks and whatever letters need to be sent out.
But, with Christmas coming, it could make people feel better, generally speaking, and hopefully create a better atmosphere all around.
If the economy picks up (keeping my fingers crossed here), I know that it will affect the crime rate, unemployment rate, etc. in a good way. We can only hope, right?

There was a family in my sister's church who had a break in in their house last week. All the presents the parents had bought for their two kids were stolen. Without the family knowing, the church took an offering and gave the family one thousand dollars. It was even more than they had originally spent on the presents that had been stolen.
