What? I can't imagine egg being one of the dirtiest food! But according to AOL Health,"while most eggs aren't going to make anyone sick, experts estimate that more than 2 million germy eggs (as in Salmonella infected) get into circulation each year, sickening 660,000 people each year and killing as many as 300". Whew, I still love eggs.

That is a sad thing. I too love eggs very much and it is very sad that eggs should be so much polluted.

I think you have to be careful how much faith you put into such reports especially when it's coming from "popular" news sources. I haven't researched it so I guess it could be true. All I know is I've eaten eggs all my life and never gotten sick from them once. Maybe I was lucky enough to miss the 2 miliion that were "dirty."

I also have been eating since I was a kid and just like, I'm thankful that I haven't been sick and God forbid!. We all don't want to get sick and funny, we sometimes eat egg when we are sick.

I also love eggs... but this explains why some restaurants refuse to serve sunny side up... since cooking eggs in full will definite rid it of those 2 million plus germs... Well, i think it is just a matter of cooking properly so that we will not get sick because of what we eat...

And to think that some people actually eat it raw or half-boiled. I love eggs - but hard boiled or fried - I suppose that should kill the germs!

I cannot swallow raw eggs, it makes me vomit! I guess, cooking the egg can kill the germs.

I don't eat them un;less my wife sneaks them into a dish that she cooks for me. As smelly as they are I don't have a hard time believing they are germy at all.

There are menu that put eggs as part of the main ingredient, what do you put in exchange of that?
