Should People who tell or expose the truth be punished?

For those of you who don't know people who are telling and exposing the truth are getting punished for exposing the criminal elements in our society.
Do we have any way to support the good deeds of those who are making our society civilized?
Are the ones exposing the truth infidels?
Should it be that any should be killed?
Should an infidel be killed?
Should the drain on our resources be stopped?
How much are we willing to lose to the crooks as their greed forces so many of us into poverty?
Should people telling and exposing the truth be punished or protected?

It's peculiar how many cultures have this opposition to "whistle blowers". On the one hand we all get indignant about the crimes they uncover, yet on the other hand we make very little provision for protecting them, or compensating them if they lose their jobs or careers over it.
If a policeman sees corrupt police and reports them, his fellow officers, even the honest ones, shun him, and he may as well quit because his career is finished. This is simply wrong.
I am a whistle blower by nature, so it's probably a good thing for me that I have never been put in this position. But it also extends to things other than crime, like telling people when they are being idiots. It makes you very unpopular, and the more accurate your comments are, the more unpopular. I don't know what the answer is, though.

I quite agree with this. I have never been in a position to be a whistle blower but if I was I would be as I believe in exposing any corruption, abuse or crookedness.
I can see what you mean about being honest with people and I have done this even though it can make enemies but then I did not want those people for friends anyway. I think my hardest moment was indirectly accusing a manager at work of being a liar. I never used the word but I exposed him as being one. It took a lot of courage to do that.

Thank You both those are words of encouragement and words that I agree with, as for not knowing what the answer is, that is simple.
We need to change the way business is done, the government needs to be changed to be aware and on the look out for signs of corruption and abuse.
We all know what a whistle blower looks like all we have to do is listen with our hearts and we know when the truth is being exposed, then all we need to do is set up a program to help whistle blowers remain protected.
I have a lot of ideas, for now I have to remain quiet while waiting to see if I will be granted protection and compensation for the harm that I have endured.

People who blow the whistle should be protected at all costs and especially after the trial is over. It is very hard though when it is the government they are blowing the whistle on.
Corruption is everywhere and it takes a brave and honest person to risk everything to tell the world. I wish there were more people who were brave enough to do this but it is hard as they sacrifice everything to expose the corruption.
