"I am ashamed for being a politician", said one young member of Indian Parliament and with him agreed another young spokesman for the main Opposition party during the recent terrorist attack on Mumbai. Do you think it is a shame to be a politician?or, in other words, is it shameful to participate in political activities?

I don't think that they are ashamed to be one. What they are ashame of is to be hopeless with what had taken place and they cannot seem to correct it. No politician is shame of being one because before entering it they do their researches and saw the benefits that came with it.

If a poltician is ashamed "with what had taken place and they cannot seem to correct it"-----it shows some element of honesty and sincerity, is it not? But need one be ashamed for being a politician? He could be sorry for failing and resolve to rectify and do better, instead of being ashamed. I understand from the statement I quoted in the beginning that he lost faith in being a politician and in himself but blames the whole lot of politicians which is deplorable.
