The reality is that I live in a small one bedroom apartment as such, one would think that I don't have a lot of extra space. Although this is true, there seems to be unlimited, nooks and crannies in which to lose that darn remote! I am telling you, I know it is about 95% likely that my MIA remote is within five feet of where I am currently sitting. Even though I know this, do you think I can find it? NOOOOOOOO! Of course not! It has been swallowed up by the infamous black hole! I have turned over every cushion (and found some extra change), moved every book and paper and anything else that is not nailed down! Still no luck!!! I need your sympathy and your support, or I fear I might lose it! lol What do you do with your remote so that you do not lose it? Do you have a system in place for finding a lost remote? Share your stories of those missing remotes or at least commiserate with me because I'm stuck on one channel!!!!

When you find it can you ask him where mine is. It has been lost since sunday and for the 100th time I looked for it I cant find it anywhere. Lucky I only need to turn the main switch on and then use the digital box remote control but in a way its good as I watch less tv now (cant be bothered to get up and turn it on)

Just an update for everyone. I have in fact found my remote cents posting this. A few responses back I gave everyone a hint as to where I found it. Then the I said it was in a place that I frequent when I get up from my computer. That was my first clue, so far none of you have suggested where in fact I did find my remote. So, here is my second clue. Miss manners would be very impressed with me as I had very good hygiene habits. Where everyone did I find my MIA remote? Can you guess? If not I will tell you a little bit later. Happy Mylotting!

Maybe yours walked to my house and mine walked to yours! I have has this same problem in the past. The remote is only stored in one room, so there are limited placed that it could be hidden. Atleast I think there are limited spaces. When you are trying to find the remote it feels like there are infinite places to search. I would try to think of the last time you used the remote and what you did immediately after watching tv. Sometimes thinking in this way will give you a visual image and you will be able to remember where you put it. As for storage tips, I have a beach themed room and our remote is (supposed to be) stored in a little pail. Now only if we could get all of the family members to abide by this organization lol.

Oh, sister you have company! I just posted to another question that I live in a 350 square foot studio with my bf. We have three remotes and he has lost two of them! He is so lazy he refuses to look for them. I am so pissed at him, I refuse to look for them since I didn't lose them. So anyway, I always put my remote in the same place. There have been occasions when my remote falls off the place where I put it and I can't immediately find it. Yes, I admit to hyperventilating, so I know what you are going through. If you don't usually put your remote in a certain spot, retrace your steps. Look under and around everything. Breathe. Good luck.

That's what happen to me some time. I desperately look for something and I can't find it wherever I look. What I usually do is leave it at that for a few minutes and think, where did I put it last. And from there, I retrace my steps. It might work but I bet, if you're not looking for it anymore, it would turn up. :)

Oh yes. I've been in this situation more times than I care to talk about. The bad thing is when you look and look and finally when you do find it it is laying on top of the TV LOL. I actually have a remote control holder which I don't use! LOL Thebest thing I ever came up with was buying some stick on velcro and putting a piece on the back of the remote and one on the side of the chair. It works most of the time but I still have to take the dreaded adventure of hunting it down once in a while! Good Luck and look on top of your TV! LOL

OK, sorry I forgot to give you all an update on the missing remote! I found it in my travels and it isn't anywhere you all have suggested, can anyone guess where it was... here's a hint... it's was in one of the places that I visit when I get up from my computer..? any ideas anyone? I'll reveal the answer in a wee bit as I know you are on the edge of your seat! lol

Yup, been there, done that! I sympathize with you on this one! LOL! I too usually try to retrace my steps, but 9 times out of 10 I forget what they were too! Then, by the time I've retraced half my steps and forgotten the rest of them, now, I've forgotten what I was looking for! LOL! It's a vicious cycle! Sometimes though I will find something I may have lost at another time, but had forgotten that I lost it! Good luck finding your remote! Rhonda

Your remote is probably lost together with my cell phone. I know it is somewhere at home, but who knows where. I place my ring on mute, so I can not call myself...

Get 1 of those "clapper" key rings and velcro the clapper part to the remote then just clap your hand s when you lose it,but that dosen't work if it;s in the fridge, oven,or freezer where i find my coffee cup sometimes, don't ask.:)

You made me laugh. I just remember a dear little boy of mine. ( I means my friends nephew). he love to watch cartoons... before and after school. Whenever he is around the house no one could change the channel or else there would be a loud and long cry. So one time what we did was, we try to stole the television remote control and hid it. So when he came from school he was crazy looking for it but no one told him where was it hidden. But... when finally he finds it... no one ever could touch it. He would bring it to the wherever he went. One time he brought it to school that make his dad spanked him. and most of the time he would bring it to the toilet just to make sure one would take it again from him. Its cray and annoying. But whenever he is being punished for that... it make me feel sorry for him that I have to go and comfort him in a way that I dont look and sound encouraging him to continue to do so. Anyways... sometimes it happen that way.

LOL, i dont know how to react on this, but i find this post funny, because i remember a very similar case with my experience. Each of our family is used to placing the remote on top of the cabinet where our TV is placed. Since then we really dont have any instance that we have problems in finding it every time someone would like to watch a show. Until one day, we cannot really find it, the same case you did, we literally turn up-side-down all the things in our living room but we could not find it. We tried looking in the bedrooms, dining room, almost everywhere, but to no avail. It took us almost a week to find it, and each one of us is still wondering where it could be, where it has been place. I have a 3 year old daughter who watches TV with her little bother (1 year old), in times when they where left alone in the living room, like i am doing something (washing dishes for instance). She would grab the remote and she is the one in charge to select their favorite channel (Cartoon Network). That day when the remote was no where to find, she is the one guilty =). She hide the remote in her palyroom along with her kitchen utensils toys. An as she has no idea that this "thing" is "so" important to us (you know what i mean). When she was asked if she knows where it is, she just told us "NO mama, i didnt even touched it". Maybe that time she is scared too that she did something wrong, as being young you know. How we find it, is when i cleaned up her playroom as i am doing it once a week only. Her toys were scrambled so i re arrange it accordingly, all the same toys where put in one container, and so as the others. So thats how i found the remote =).

I've been in this situation before. Although we do try to keep the remote in room, somehow the remote gets put on a table in another room. Of course, there are many times we're "lost" the remote, only to find that it's fallen between the cushions of couch. So either it'd be wedged there, or it's all the way under the coach, and we have to reach under to sift it out.
