Should i let him buy his toy in time of crises?

My partner had been wanting to buy an expensive gadget and he's saving for it. but I wish he'd prioritize our savings and emergency fund now that it's hard to find a good job. We are both unemployed but we do get income once in a while from small job commissions. our small savings decreases everyday as bills comes monthly while income does not, so i'm a bit worried about getting broke before a good income comes our way. Am I being selfish?

if he agrees with your decisoins, try to convience hin that this is not the proper time to buy it...if he understands your opinion, he will definitely give up the idea of having it now.

I don't think you are being selfish. I think you are being realistic! Your partner needs to realize that you might need that money for food in the near future. Is that gadget going to feed him? Probably not. Tell your partner how you feel.

Thanks for the response Stephanie5, I've told him many times before to postpone that plan for later. He'd been waiting and now that he's expecting income from a job commission he's wanting it again. :(

well.i guess you are just being practical, it wont hurt not to buy..maybe explain what you are feeling about it...and if he really wants it and is willing to suffer consequences then let him but it...as long as he wont complain afterwards
