Problem getting into Administrator User account!

Hi all, I have a major problem and I really hope that someone can help me. I was trying to reinstall Norton Antivirus 2006 and it wasn't working so I got in touch with symantec technical support. The chap requested to initiate a remote assistance session. He managed to reinstall Norton antivirus 2006 and then the session was terminated. This relates to my friend's computer and they had two administrator user accounts. I could log into one account using a password but the password was not recognised in the other user account. I went into the administrator account and deleted the other account that I could not get into. I also did a system restore to before the norton antivirus was installed. I created another user account and chose a new password for this account. This seemed to work but when accessing the account the Internet explorer icon didn't work. A dialogue box showed asking what program to use in order to open Internet Explorer. The technician at symantec used LogMeIn Rescue for the remote assistance. What has happened and can anyone help me? I would be grateful for any assistance? Has the technician hijacked the system? Many thanks in advance. Andrew

Why did you do a system restore when I chap at symantec had already reinstalled the Norton? What is your problem now? Norton not working, IE not opening or not able to get into admin account. I didn't get you......

Hi, I restored the system to before the Norton product was installed! I guess I tried a few things and was going deeper and deeper into problems. Anyhow, this issue has been resolved now. Many thanks for contributing in this discussion. Andrew
