3.7 inches of SNOW! first time in 29 years we got snow in the valley. YEah yeah I know otherpeople gonna say RECORD snow? FOr all the people that have tons of snow this is a big daeal for us. Schools are shut down first time ever for these kids. Airport was closed yesterday they have no snow equipment. Right now road to Calif. shut any one trying to drive out of the valley cant for it did snow awhole lot more in the mountains that surround us. Grand daughter 4 kept wanting to go out . we did and put the first foot prints in the snow and it was a wet heavy snow the tree limbs were really weighed down. and when mommy got home they went out and threw snow balls . So much fun . Cheyenne wants to make a mommy snowman a daddy snow man and a baby snowman told her we might not have that much snoewin our yard .But if any left when she gets up I guess I will have to try and make some kind of one lol

It must be real big deal for Vegas... We have snow for over 2 weeks now and it is normal for Chicago. Today is not as cold as it used to be for last two weeks. It is all white and very sunny....

:) ... I live in Wisconsin.. and I think Tonight my family was all just as excited.. But its funny when they are excited about snow here.. Because we get snow regularly... In one part of Wisconsin they expected 1-5 inches in the next one 5-8 inches... and then the other one 10-12 inches.. That is when I smiled and danced around and went yay!... I confess I been saying alot of Snow Prayers this year... Around where I am.. I am known for being a minister, and a Shaman... So, the everyone tells me what they want the weather to be... And I relay that to the Spirits.. and the Spirits Giggle.. and relay back to me what they are gonna do, and I relay it back to them... and I state well.. Weather Spirits have free will too.. And They do as they are gonna do.. :) ... However, for the most part I am on good terms with them.. So When I ask for a snow it comes, ask for a good storm it comes, ask for good sunshine it comes.. Unless, they they I have an attitude or ask for the wrong reasons then they stick their tongues out at me and walk away :) ... just kidding about the tongue thing.. added that for cute effect.. If the snow all melts... before you get to make a snow man you can buy little styrofoam balls, and let the kids make snow men out of them.. to remember the snow by :) ... or take a trip to the mountains or ski resorts... or Wisconsin.. :) ... Your record is awesome.... But I gotta say... I din't do it! lol... That is my other tradition after someone tells me about odd weather.. I respond.. I din't do it! ... and sometimes... I'll have responces from all over.. "Yes you did!" Then I will stay alright maybe if I did... and then nope.. if I did not :) .. I did ask Spirits to bring snow to areas that do not usually get it as a Christmas treat to children... But I did not specify where. I am glad they enjoyed it I love hearing heartwarming stories like that. I just hope everyone was safe and no one got hurt... But.. I did not do it... The Weather Spirits, and Divine being many call G-d did.. I Just pray and entertain them :d .. with my silliness :) . Take care, - DNatureofDTrain

yeah my sister told us about this. She had heard it on the news. I couldn't believe it. It seems like you guys and California are getting our weather and we are getting your weather. Today here in Ohio, it felt like Spring. I think it must be the Global Warming causing this.

I hope you enjoyed it. I imagine the kids loved it. The last time we had any measurable snow here in Georgia was in 1978. I was amazed at how many accidents there was. I had just come from Germany so I used to snow.

wow...I heard somewhere else that they got snow in California, and I couldn't believe it, because they said they don't ever get it, I didn't know that it even got that cold there. I'm from Oklahoma, and we don't get that much snow either, I think its been years since we've got as much as you all did, we do get ice and I don't like that, I'd rather have the snow because at least you can drive in it, the ice you can't its too slippery and dangerous, its been years since we've had a white Christmas..lol. Well I'm glad your kids are out enjoying it, and getting to build snowmen. Stay warm...Have a good day

Hi lakota! That is so cool! I heard about your snow on the news! It is a big deal! For you that is alot of snow! I think it's great! At least the kids get a chance to play in it and see what it's like! I think all kids should have that experience if they can at least once in their lives so I'm so glad that your grandaughter can! And I hope she can make as many snowpeople as she wants to! Enjoy all your snow!

Wow, it must be great to have such experience, and don't forget to leave as many as photos as possible. They will remind you of the days. But the snow is likely to bring about some inconvenience too, so take care, especially of the children. I was in the Veges several years ago and was amazed by the scope of construction going on as well as the architectures already in existance. People said, half the the cranes on the world are in Shanghai and the other half in the Vegas. Just kidding though!

Wow for Las Vegas that is something. I would imagine people were driving around like a Keystone Cops movie! Making snow people sounds like a good way to pass the time today! What fun I'd be happy to send you some if you need any extra, we've got plenty to spare. Hope you have a great day with your Granddaughter!

It is a sight to see for those of us who never get snow to finally get it after years and years. I am in south Texas and in 2004 we had a White Christmas, first I have ever heard of here. We measured 6 inches here, it was beautiful. My grown kids had a blast as well did the grandkids. Right now I can't find pictures so I can post one on here, I didn't have digital camera then. Enjoy the snow and I hope Cheyenne (love the name) gets to make her snowfamily. When my grandson got to play in his first snow he thought it was too cold, even with gloves on. He decided it would be better to put the snow in the oven to warm it up before he played with it. He was about 3 then. hahaha

hello my fellow Las Vegian, yup, i'm watching Dave and Heidi.........and Ted on Fox 5 news right now. looks like the kids are getting a "snow day" today. and traffic looks like a mess. also these poor little trees here in Vegas can't handle snow, and many were lost last night. i lived in Minnesota and Wisconsin for 13 years, so i'm no stranger to snow, but i've been here in Vegas for almost 10 years, so it's kind of neat to see the kids playing in the snow. "walking in a winter wonderland"
