Insurance/car accident

I got a call from the main claims office of my automobile insurance company just a little while ago. As it was, the other person, (whom I believe caused the accident) was also insured by my company the review for fault went into a different process for deliberation. ALl told the other person was found to be at 70% fault. This means that my $500 deductible will be returned to me. Being an insurance company I asked how many months would this take. She told me, "Oh no Mr. O. we are already in the process of cutting the check for you. You should get it within a weeks time or so." Now this is great news as some of the cash we had saved to pay on the Credit Card we used for the deductible was for more gifts etc for the Holidays. So now we have that cash back and my wife and I are both pleased. Just wanted to share this good news with my friends etc here. Thanks all.

I had plans for the money come spring as I did
not expect to get a check back till March or later.

That is really good news for you, I mean I know that insurance companies are not the fastest at making a payout so that is great news!

The last claim I filed I had a vehicle totaled.
It took 3 months to get a check from them.
So this was a shocking surprise.

Yes there is a Santa Clause.
What stunned me was the time it will take to get the deductible back.
I was expecting it in a couple months not a week or so.

This is really good news. I love it when thinks work out really quickly, and without all of the usual red tape. Speaking of "working out really quickly," my myLot is loading as slow as molasses at the moment. I think it's time for a break for me, for now. Take care.

response! I have never known an insurance company to be so
quick to return money! That sure is nice of them to get it

Great news GB. It is good to hear something is going in your favor for that accident. Now you and the wife can go out and enjoy yourselves after the Christmas holidays are over. You deserve it for all the time and work you have done this Christmas.

The is awesome news and since it was 5 days ago you probably received your check already you are lucky to have a fast and efficient insurance company. It is a nice surprise. Maybe they wanted to get everything taken care of and wrapped up before the end of the year.

That is good news Grandpa Bob. Such money would certainly go a long way of buying more gifts. I know the how good it feels to have the money that we have consigned to loss returned back to us. I remember just 4 weeks ago having a shopping spree with my children because I received something which I thought I would no longer receive. We bough new curtains and seat covers, some new bedding, new clothes and of course, a number of toys. Good for you!

Great news!
My mom had an accident before Thanksgiving and after I got back into town after the holiday I had to light a fire under the City bus company (since it was one of their special transit cabs that hit mom.) Turned out someone had put it on the desk of someone that was going to be out for another week. Even then, it was a MONTH before they coughed up the money and mom got her new car back!
