I marinated some chicken in Jamaican Jerk A1 Marinade for dinner tonight. I have only ever had this Jerk seasoning my brother has. That stuff was not spicy. This stuff was insanely spicy. I really should have tasted it before I marinated the chicken in it. Have you ever had Jamaican Jerk Chicken before? Have you ever made something for dinner and realized after it was done cooking that it was way too spicy?

That is sad. In the New Year I will send you the real thing to try.
Perhaps you could have used too much seasoning by mistake? I really don't know that brand but visitors to Jamaica including children eat jerk very happily.I am sorry that you had that experience. Did you get your car back from your mother? Blessings

ah, if it was a marinade then you should have only used about 2 teaspoonfuls for a whole chicken. I hope that your mouth has cooled down!

i have had some jerk spices before like in a sandwhich. I didn't like it. It was too spicy for me and I thought it was really kind of bad. I think real jerk seasonings like made in Jamaica are probably good but not stuff made in a Tropical Smoothie cafe.

hi m y dear friend, i am a vegetarian so i cant say anything about it but my hubby eats lots of non-vege items. he is sitting beside me. i asked him and he said that he too had eaten it before and not in any restaurant but in a friends house. it is really very spicy and after eating will make your stomach burn like hell. he dont like that much of spicy food so he never ate that after that day. and because he cooks also, he never ever made also.

I love Jamaican Jerk seasoning. My hubby keeps it in the house. But we use it sparingly. A little goes a long, long way. Usually if it is too spicy my hubby will eat it anyway. He hates to waste food. I wish he would just dump it. He ends up suffering later in the evening from it.

I do not like eating really hot stuff. One night I went out with friends and there were appetizers. I do not like hot wings, but I was really hungry and decided to try them. OMG, my mouth was burning so much, because they were actually Jerk chicken wings. they were so hot you could not taste the chicken all you felt was your mouth on fire. The blue cheese dressing did not help at all. I can imagine how hot your chicken must have been. So I guess you had to go to plan B for dinner huh?

i have experience it before. when i was supposedly put salt to my recipe and it turned out to be sugar. i have to adjust the flavor again and add water to take away the sweet taste of the recipe, then finally was able to add salt.
