Christmas is next week and I am too relaxed. I don't understand it. I did make the cakes which turned out soooo good that one was eaten, two are left so I have to make two more tomorrow evening. I have gifts for the children - nothing for the adults or staff at work. I went into town after work and nonchalantly picked up a medium sized turkey, ham and a roaster chicken.(I had just received my bonus from my part time job - wasn't expecting this, so it was a great bonus - excuse the dreadful pun) I wandered around the aisles and then picked up some tins of sliced pineapple for the ham. I yawned a few times, and thought that I had done enough shopping towards Christmas and meandered off home. Usually, I am anxious and walk around with my Christmas book and frantically looking for things. I am amazed at myself. Perhaps it is because I have the DIL who is such a great help and my daughter is coming next Monday. Anyway, I am enjoying the calm. so my friends, are yo calm or a bit frantic? Blessings

I'm almost ready for christmas but I was just looking up the weather report to see what it is going to be like on christmas and blah! it's going to be hot. it's suppose to be 77 with isolated showers. not very christmas weather.. i really dislike south florida sometimes lol i wish it got colder here. it doesn't feel like christmas when its hot and rainy outside. ya know? other then the weather going to be crappy and still needing to buy a few things for people... i am pretty relaxed. we aren't having a great big christmas this year. everyone got really expensive gifts this year so not a lot of money left over to do other things with... but it will be a good one hope you have a great christmas and happy new year.

It wouldn't be Christmas for me without the snow. Last year we didn't get our first snowfall until January, and I found it very difficult to get into the Christmas spirit. This year is different. We've had a decent amount of snow, and keep getting more. We're going to have a huge storm today and have up to 15 inches by tonight possibly. I just hope it doesn't melt before Christmas. You know what they say in my area? If you don't like the weather, wait a minute, it will change. And that's so true, it was 70 degrees last week, and the very next day there was a foot of snow, lol.

Dear Sameroad, Thak you for responding. I'm not sure about what weather we will be having nut we will be having our Christmas Breeze that has already starteed so it will be pleasant. I think that so many people have scaled down this year too. My guests are each bringing a dish so that I don't get the expense. For example on eperson is cooking me a ham so my ham will be used later in the week and at New Year. I'm not usually calm though!

HI katsweow. Cold weather and snow was the one thing that I missed at Christmas when I emigrated so many years ago. It took a few years to get used to a different Christmas but I have and I enjoy the festivities of my hiome. Occasionally I long for a white Christmas but that is just nostalgia. Thank you for responding. I do not miss the cold now!Blessings

Hi ya cynthiann I am so glad to hear that you are so relaxed that's great and good for everyone else too. I am also quite calm. I bought a lot of my gifts in October because I didn't want to get mixed up in all the Christams hype and the hustle and bustle of the Christmas shoppers, that really stresses me out. The kids break up from school today and I wanted to be calm and enjoy their excitement leading up to the day instead of getting stressed with them. I have just got to get my vegetables on Tuesday and that is it. It is only going to be me and my boys for Christmas dinner oh and my uncle and cousin but I don't feel the need to impress them as they are lucky they have got somewhere to come for Christmas day - it's a long story!

Oh that's great. You are so well organised. That is why I am puzzled as I am usuallly organised too. I think it is because the DIL is here and my daughter fliews in from NC on Monday. when my boys were small, they would get too excited on Christmas Eve so I would give them ONE present and that seeme dto settle the noise a bit. Thank you for your response and have a wonderful Christmas with your boys. Blessings.

I'm calm as well. Most years we're totally frantic at this point, but I'm calm and just enjoying the season. My shopping has been finished for quite some time, although we do keep adding to it. I finished off the stocking stuffers yesterday, hubby finished his shopping for me yesterday as well, which is a true surprise. He's usually out on Christmas Eve doing all the shopping at once. We've been very on top of things this year, and we got lucky with a bit of help. We had an insurance check a few weeks ago that helped out a lot and got the bulk of our shopping done, and a few days ago we got hubby's 401K money which allowed us to finish our shopping. I'm already planning on saving all of my online earnings next year to use towards next Christmas, so hopefully I'll be just as calm next year. Although I wouldn't exactly call it calm. I'm excited and wish tomorrow were Christmas!! I'm so looking forward to it.
