Hello friends I need your ideas and suggestions regarding my PC. I am not satisfied with the performance of my PC due to the slow in processing. Aside from buying new one, is there any chance of upgrading this? Here's the specification: CPU : Hp 3.2GhZ VIDEO:6.4Mb MEMORY: 512 PENTIUM 4, INTEL Processor Aside from that, I remember as I purchased it, I bought an additional hard disk 80GhZ aside from the installed 40GhZ. But if you're going to see it, there were just two partition at 40GzH each. My main program and my back-up. Where's the old 40Gzh goes? Was my other (old) 40GzH has no detection with my CPU? What is your idea about this? This is my problem since I bought this PC. Thank you

The upgradebility of your PC depends upon you motherboard and you have not mentioned your motherboard model. And in case of your Hard disk, first of all, it is GB(GigaByte) not GhZ(Giga Hertz). Memory is measured in Bytes and clock frequency is measured in Herz. May be you bought a 40 GB HDD instead of 80 when purchased and you where told that total 80GB space is there(you misinterpreted it as 40 + 80). Are you sure you bought 80GB? If yes then you have to open up your cabinet and check if two are there. Ask a tech guy to do this for you....

the first thing you should upgrade is your video card..64 MB is way too small for you to be able to play today's games..also upgrade your memory to 1 GB..check the model of your motherboard to see if your planned replacement is still compatible with the motherboard..regarding your hard drive problem..you probably didn't set your other 40GB as a slave drive to your computer so it won't be detected..

yes thanks for your suggestions. By the way, I am not a gamer. What I need to have I think is my memory to act fast. I just finished re formatting my cpu cause it was infected by spyware..at least, blessing in-disguise I had a chance to see the internal of my processor..I know already the whole specs and some parts of it if I am going to upgrade it..thanks again..cheers..advance Happy New YEar

I'm not sure that your VRAM (Video RAM) is 6.4 MB. maybe it's 64 MB. And I don't know, is it a card or on board? If it is on board, so you only have effective 448 MB of RAM to use to work with your application. You need to buy a new VGA Card. Maybe your mainboard support AGP VGA Card only. SO, you must buy AGP VGA card with VRAM at least 128 MB (your are not a gamer, don't you?). And you should buy another 512 MB of RAM. Make sure that the RAM has the same specs with your old one. Actually, with the specs of your computer now, it shouldn't give a slow performance for you. Try to speed up your computer by setting up your operating system, like manage your start up program, scandisk your HD, defrag the HD, clean up your HD from temp files, and increase the amount of your virtual memory.
