None of our computers, except for our older desktop, has a floppy drive. They all have CD-Roms. Except for our older desktop, all of the computers have a DVD burner. We also use portable hard drives when the internal gets too full or small.

you know, i am a computer nerd and i actually inserted a floppy drive in my new computer so i could get some information from way back when. It's pretty hard, though. you would want a proffesional to do it because i messed up my computer a bit before i finally did it.

Yes, I still have a floppy drive on my system. I like the floppy drive even though it is becoming an outdated technology. I have a utility disk that goes into my floppy drive and it's basically some software that scans your hard drive for errors. You boot from this disk and it goes straight to the diagnostic page. Also, I have an emergency boot disk for my windows xp home edition. If for some reason I am unable to boot to windows then I can boot up from this disk so that I have access to the windows desktop and then I can go about sorting out the problem. The floppy drive is very useful although I accept that you can now boot up from usb as well as the cd drive, I think!! Don't quote me on that one though! Andrew

i seldom used floppy drives back in the days when they were used because i didn't find then reliable. once i remember that i had a project saved on it and by the time i ran it on the school computer, i failed to load the file. floppy disks failed at the most crucial time for me. so that is why i used to save the work in my email inbox and retrieve it whenever i needed it. and i don't even have a floppy drive in this computer, and neither did i have a floppy drive in my previous computer. USB flash-drives are super effective. i have a shock-proof 4 GB Corsair

I have an older computer with a floppy drive but it's been years since I last used it. Going to get a new computer soon though without a floppy drive on it of course.
