I love to eat my mince pies steaming hot with a really generous helping of Cornish Clotted Cream. How do eat your mince pies?

You really can not beat a home made mince pie just out of the oven. When we were children my mum would spend every Christmas eve making mince pies and sausage rolls. I now enjoy a hot mince pie with fresh cream but it has to be fresh cream none of that artificial stuff.

I have never eaten a mince pie. I don't know of anyone in my family that has ever made them either. That is the pie with all the little minced up pieces of fruit like apples and raisins right?

Well to tell you the truth, I'm not too fond of mince pies. And I have never had Cornish clotted cream. I'm a cherry pie lover myself!

Clotted Cream - cream
Hi ya dawnald I must admit that I only eat mince pies at Christmas time! I will see if I can upload a picture of some clotted cream. It looks a bit like ice cream but it is pure cream and is very thick that you have to spoon it.

You are a bad girl, humnbug. My mouth is watering. Cornish clotted cream? Oh how I wish that twqs avaialble out here where I live. Stesming hot is really the only way to eat them and cream would make it dish foir for the gods. I can purchase freah cream and this is a good idea for me to do. Better get into the naughty corner now before I start drooling. Blessings

Without burning my mouth! My mum is an excellent cook, so good that I get so damn impatient when she starts to bake, and a few weeks ago she started making mince pies and they were on the side, and what did Wolfie do? Grab one and bit into it, OUCH, OUCH, OUCH I had burnt my mouth, yes I know that taught me a lesson, but why does a burnt mouth take so long to heal? Probably because you can't put anything on it can you, not like you can rush for the savlon is it! So now I am careful and have to wait till they are cool, but there's something much more tastier when mince pies are hot don't you think? Although in my case not too hot and no I hate cream, yuk! I just have them plain, with a nice mug of black coffee!

Hi wolfie34 That was a bit daft wasn't it? You say that you have learnt your leson but I bet you haven't as there is something about grabbing freshly baked stuff even though you know it is really hot and it will burn you!! LOL Cheers wolfie
