I recieved a phone call the other night from an old man living over the road from me and he sounded really frightened. He told me he had what sounded like an explosion outside his front window,I looked out but could not see much as my wall blocked the view.He asked me to call the police and sort things out for him.I did exactly that and went over to his house it was eleven pm and dark.He was almost to frightened to open the door poor man.I talked to him, then went back outside to explore and found a broken bottle broken all over his path, some idiot had driven fast past the house and slung an empty spirit bottle out of the car window,it had hit his wall just by his window where he had been sitting. He was so lucky if it had hit the window and gone through it he would have been badly hurt or killed as he has an anurism in the groin and the shock would have been enough to set it off and his heart is not to good.I sat with him waiting for the police and the door went ,I answered the door to two fire engines looking for an explosion sorry I said, they were very good and cleared up the glass and checked his window,by this time another neigbour came round and sat with him as I remembered I had left my son in doors and my husband was asleep in bed so she took over when the police arrived. It took me a couple of days for what had happened to sink in,and what could have happened to that dear old man.Have you had any experiences like this and how if you did ,did you feel and react.
