One would think that if there were reservations, ther'd be cars...

Ok so my 8:05 flight that was supposed to land at 9:10 was an hour and a half late. So I got to the car rental place, yep you guessed it, an hour and a half late. They had no cars. There were three people ahead of me and at least 3 people behind me that they didn't have cars for. But they took reservations from all of us. They knew we were coming. Anybody have any idea why they didn't have any cars for us?

What a real pain in the backside that must have been! That is really unprofessional of them to allow such a thing to happen. It's like I met up with my family in a restaurant. The reservation had been made in October so they knew that we were coming. They also had a wedding party to do and so we waited nearly an hour after ordering our food before we said something. They knew we were coming and surely they knew they had a wedding party to deal with so why did they make us wait so long?

Yep, if they had taken reservations for both,they should have staffed for both!

That's just like over book plane tickets.
If you don't have the seat why book it for people. The only thing about the rental car is that they were expecting people to return there car on that day and they never did which left you with no car.

It is possible that a lot of cars were returned late because of flight delays also. That makes sense!

I would guess it's the same principle that airlines use when they
overbook flights. There is always cancellations so they try to
rent them all out and unfortunately sometimes all people show
up for their car rentals. Just my guess is all.

or maybe people are returning them late because of the flight delays, that's my other theory!
