Have you ever felt some other response as good after selecting the best one?

I select the best response for my discussions only after a week of the discussion. By this there is a greater probability to get more good responses. Last week, I selected a best response for my discussion and few hours after that I got yet another response that was highly informative. I was just worried as it had the credit to be the best one. Has this happened to you? Have you ever felt that some other response seems to be more good after selecting the best one for the discussion?

Rarely do I find responses going beyond a week, and so far I can't think of one discussion I've started where I would have wanted to change the chosen BR because of later responses. On the other hand, I have had a number where choosing one was very difficult, either because there were several good ones or no good ones. But since I hate having unresolved discussions, I will choose even if none are particularly good.

yes, I too have been at this situation. Sometimes I would have recieved many number of good responses.I will have a tough job to select the best response. It is always a good habit to select a best response for the discussion instead of having it as unresolved discussion.

This has happened to me before which is why I do not choose a best response for several days. I like to give lots of people are chance to respond and then have lots to choose between.
I do not always get lots and I do get several that are worthy of bp's. It is often hard to choose and since there can only be one there will always be a chance that a better one may come along.

It has happened with me a couple of times. Then I wish we had option of selecting two best reponses. But on a few occasions I have marked best reponses by mistake not realising. Stupid mistake due to absent or preoccupied mind. lol.

This has happened to me mostly because I do not have a huge network of friends built yet, therefore I do not have a lot of responses and perhaps I resolve them too quickly? It always seems that once I pick a best someone comes along and devotes themselves to my topic and really hits the nail on the head!
I never go to a thread and look first to see if there is a best response given out, I post if I feel drawn to it, regardless. But I guess most everyone is out there trying to get the "best response" award!

I find the best thing to do is to leave a bp for several days. I used to give them too quickly and found that I missed some much better ones that came later. Also I find that more people respond to a discussion that has not yet had its bp issued.
I often wait for a week before I give one out and I know that a lot of people here wait much longer than that.
