Any advice for a fellow blogger?

To all the bloggers out there, Any advice for me? I do not consider myself a newbie, however neither am I am expert. I am more like a novice trying to make things tick. I am still not able to resolve my SEO issue, (any wordpress users who know how to alter the meta tags, Please let me know. It is actually important for pagerank.) Ok I have heard of Alexis or something like that, how does it helps to get better traffic to my site? confuse. (anyone care to try to explain?) Recently I found some cool new plugins, I am not sure it is working, however it is does as it says it would, adsense is going to regret not approving my blog. haha just kidding. What else should a novice blogger knows before it can turn a good site to a greats site. For those would like to commend on my layout and topics can also do so.
