I am so not in the Christmas mood this year, well I never am but I think I may be getting there slowly. First, I got the gifts I thought I wouldn't be able to get for my kids. Then, we got our tree put up and decorated for the kids, I think it's beautiful. Tonight,we were sitting around doing our work at home sites and watching a movie wuth the kids and we heard singing......Christmas music? camodad quickly turned to volume down and rushed to the door, It was Christmas music...carolers to be exact. We hurried a rounded up all 3 kids and ran to the door and listened to them sing, Tis The Season and We Wish You A Merry Christmas. Very beautifully sung. Our 2 1/2 year old looked like she was going to cry, she loves music and when we came back in, she started singing the songs. She didn't have the correct words and was very off key but very cute. I have never had carolers come to my house ever before, It was very touching and I think I needed it this year. Have you ever had carolers come to your door?

I don't know. I know I once went over and sung to my mom with a few friends. I know that some houses felt it was an imposition, but others seemed to be really like it.

I never even knew that people actually did that kind of thing. I always seen it on tv but never in real life. That is very cool for you and your children.

Caroling starts 1st day of December in our place (PI). Most carolers were kids because they are aftering for the money . The funny was they pronounce some words incorrectly. It was fun though. And nice to have people singing nice song infront of your house with great voices.

You have a nice experience and seeing your 2/12 year old daughter singing Christmas songs even though not in correct words and tunes is really a heartwarming scene. We always have Christmas carolers every month of December. Every first day of December the carolers start singing Christmas carols. We always love to hear them Christmas songs. We have an average of 5 to 8 carolers every night.. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year..

I'm so glad that they helped you get into the Christmas mood. I have been a caroler about every year with our church but we live pretty far from town so I have never had them show up but would absolutely love it if they did! Have a Great Christmas!

I hope you an experience it yourself sometime. It's a great feeling, It almost brought me to tears (in a good way). It overwhelms me to see strangers doing for strangers, especially when it's for me and my family. I'm used to being the charitable one. Merry Christmas!!!

I don't recall carolers ever coming to my door. I live so far from town now I don't expect it. I am glad that the carolers stopped by and helped to put you more in the Christmas spirit.

Me too, I really wasn't in the mood for any holidays this year. I guess the powers that be had other plans for me though.

Oh, now you've gone and done it! I was just thinking today if there was anything from up north about Christmas that I missed (aside from family) and I couldn't think of a thing but carolers would be one of them. The members of a local church near where we used to live used to carol in different areas in the evenings before Christmas and they would eventually get around to us. I used to love that...it was so nice and friendly...gave you a good feeling inside.

It sure does give you a good feeling. It's the first time I experienced it. I think I'd really miss it if I was used to it every year also. There's still a few more days....maybe some will show up at your door.

I am glad that the spirit is finally coming to you. I may not show it, but I do like holidays. Especially Christmas. It is the most hyper holiday there is. It is the happiest sad holiday I can think of. It is to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Sure there are gifts and people make it seem like thats all its about. And it is. It is all about the gift that Jesus gave us. It is because of him that we have what we do. So I say enjoy this wonderful holiday for what it is. Forget about money, forget about toys. Cherish the life and family that you have.

I do cherish you and the kids everyday. I just hate not being able to do for them. That part was taken care of this year, that helps. Now I have to try to remember my lost loved ones in a good way instead of being sad and dwelling on the fact that they aren't here, I'll be fine once Thursday comes. Love you.

I've never seen carolers but when I was 9-11 we lived in VA Beach and we used to go caroling around our neighborhood. All our neighbors were really nice and they would give us cookies and cocoa if we wanted it. It kind of spread the spirit of christmas to them and us.
