I learn Krishna from my friend who come from India. He bought a book to me, the book is about Krishna. I am very interested in what the book have said. I am a Muslim, but I find that Islam has a lot in common with Krishna. But Krishna is a branch of Hinduism. This is the website about Krishna http://www.krishna.com/ . If you some ideas about the Krishna, I hope we can exchange ideas.

hi,i think udit panadae had giv u a nice introduction abt krishna, well i think i will explain krishna in another way i think it will hurt some hindus here but sorry for it actually krishna and ram was for giving us the meassage for elavating ourselves from the ordinary human levels to the level of brahma, and they also shows us the way of living by doing our karma{duty} in bhagavad gita krishna tells us more than 350 fundamental messages on crisis management, karma and all the things a comman man can do to attain brahma, he resembles a good king too doing his karma, u can see tht there is a misunderstanding in so many that krishna hav 1000 wives, but actually it was a good administration skill of a king, when he killed a evil,he released 1000 girls frm his custody, but the people of the state not even consider them,so krishna gave them the the place of wives and gave some advantages to them in society

I am glad you are true enough to admit that Ram and Krishna are mythological characters. I too feel the same. However, I revere the Gita for it is a wonderful book which is the truest guide to our daily lives. It is beyond any particular religion and shows us how and when to be manipulative and for what reasons. It does not preach but rather shows us both the good and the evil and helps us to make better choices. I also like the character of Krishna… he is indeed the epitome of modern man and is the perfect politician in every sense. I do not like the character of Ram…he is the typical north Indian male and many stereotype ideas about and against women have started from his time. He may have been an ideal king, but a very poor and selfish husband.

i am happy to see someone who really like gita, gita gives us the fundementals of living,go with brahma doing our duty, actually gita was written by vyasa in mahabharatha, but in original story means the first scripture of mahabharatha known as "jayam" there is no bhagavad githa later in 900 bc when vyasa wrote mahabharatha it wwas the ideas of the vyasas{mahabharatha was not written by a vyasa} and the yogis who helped them to do it ,was the bhagavad githa

It is good to be inquisitive about all religions. I too read a lot about Islam, Christianity, Judaism etc in the net. I love reading the various laws and their interpretations of all religions. However, I could not understand how Krishna is similar to something in Islam. Polytheism is the greatest sin in Islam and there are no images of the prophet Muhammad for this very reason. Krishna, on the other hand, is a representation of one of the many Hindu goddesses and his idols and pictures are worshipped everywhere. Can you tell me where is the link? I am very curious.

Yes you are correct in this...original pure Hinduism is also monotheist in nature. It was only later that Hinduism was corrupted to become polytheist in nature. Personally, I am a firm believer of monotheism.

I just think the Krishna is the only God and original God is the same with Islam, and from the book I know the book said all the religions come from the only God-Krishna, Krishna is just one name of his. These are the same with Islam!

You asked a very excellent question. Lord Krishna is actually the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he is the "God". He is above Lord Brahma, Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. He is above all demigods in Hindu religion. As is said in Brahma Samhita "Govindam Adi Purusham Tamaham Bhajami". Lord Brahma says "I sing the praises of Lord Govinda(Krishna) who is the original Being". Hope this helps. Regards, Anand http://www.teachingsofbhagavadgita.com http://www.mantrapractice.com

I am a hindu & from india. Krishna is thought to be the incarnation of the supreme lord BISHNU of hindu belief. He was born in an era called DWAPARA..He killed many demons & devils from the world ,notable are Kansha, jarashandha. He was the chariot driver of the great warrier arjun in the war called MAHABHARAT, the war which whole india was believed to fought. It is because if the divine grace of krishna that the panvdavas won the war. The festival or DOLA MAHOTSAVA is celebrated in india as an worship to lord krishna which is followed by the famous festival of colours the HOLI.you can find some more information at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/krishna. Thank you
