Friends I want to buy a Lap top or a Note book computer and after looking at all the products I have finalised to buy either Compaq or Acer. The Acer aspire 5926 suits my budget and it also has a core2duo, whereas Compaq is a dual core, which is better? Your responses.

i would go with the acer laptop.. core2duo and dual core are almost the same in terms of performance.. since acer is cheaper and since we are facing a global crisis, buy the acer.. :)

Thanks for the response kingmax24, I see that you are new to Mylot, and I wellcome you to Mylot. The fact is Acer has got much better features than, Compaq, and the only plus point of Compaq is it is better looking.

i would just like to add.. buy the acer if all the other specs of acer are the same as the compaq.. :) if you feel that the compaq has an advantage, then spend a little more money with compaq..

compaq's will b expensive but better lookin
and acers will b cheaper but they will look ok
and u can find options in both!

Thanks for the response the crazyjogger, you have a valid point that Compaq looks better, but since I am not a young man like you, the looks does not bother me much. If given a chance, my son would also prefer a Compaq to an Acer. cheers.

Acer laptops are usually cheaper compared to other laptops & the after sales support in terms of technical support & all are better here in our country compared to Compaq. I normally recommend my clients Acer laptops as I myself am using one too & find it to be quite reliable

Thanks for the response zweeb82, the main reason I want to go for Acer is, it is cheaper than compaq and has a better configuration also.
