Be honest - tell me someone who has NOT broken a Mylot rule? The first thing

newbies ask is "how much can we earn on mylot?" The make extra money category is filled with nothing but promotions and spamming. I and many other mylotters have all "discussed" our favorite sites and have gone over or come close to breaking the promotions rule. Anyway the more I read about posts being deleted and members not knowing why, it just makes me want a refresher course on mylot guidelines. The more I understand the rules, hmmm, the less I have to say. I dont know how I made it over that 1000 post since I am not pushing any ptr sites lately. BTW isnt it about time for Crash to show up with some new improvement?

I'm sure that everyone has ... hmmm ... 'pushed the envelope' a bit with the Guidelines. I can't remember (even if you put me in one of those cedar-and-incense-smelling confessionals) exactly where I might have sinned but I bet I have! I happen to be one of those who knows the Guidelines backwards (OK ... they don't make a lot of sense unless you know them forwards as well!) and try to see that they are observed. I dare to say that I never report a discussion in anger ("What never? ... well, Hardly ever!", as W.S. Gilbert has it). As a regular (and, I like to think, upstanding) member, however, it does get a little tiresome finding good discussion topics to respond to (and responding is what I do much more than creating, these days). I agree that a refresher course on "How to create good discussion topics" and "What MyLot is REALLY about" ... not to mention an obligatory revision and test on knowledge of the Guidelines would not be a bad thing at all!

I know exactly what you mean. I have never reported a discussion either. Most mylotters will get the offender told. I dont start discussions much anymore and its getting very hard to find good posts to reply. Sometimes I find myself wanting to say "who gives a f****k" to some of those lame stupid posts that keep asking the same old questions. Instead of road rage, I have mylot rage. Then its time to log off and do other things.

Ho! Did I say that I have 'never reported a discussion'? Along with many others here, I regularly report discussions ... in fact, some days it is almost all I do! I don't actively go looking for discussions to report, though ... for heavens sake, I want to discuss (and earn money) as much as anyone! When I come across one that is not in the spirit that MyLot intends, however, I report it and sometimes investigate other discussions that that member has started - because it is usually a new member who hasn't read the rules.

I agree, too, that there is a state of 'MyLot Rage' where you know it's better to leave it and go do something else (like take a long walk in the park or something!)

Hey there sergeant! Yes I guess we all have broken the rules at some point, myself included. It is easy to get distracted and carried away and I have done so quite rcetly - two discussions very similar in contect which I asked to be removed Ijust read the rules regularly as you never know when they will be updating them and I try and keep within them and warn others when they are not doing so. Crash? I think he must have retired

Hey diana, see my hat! Very easy to do in the mem category. I always check first before posting but there are pages and pages to go thru. And its always that one time I dont go back far enough to see someone else started the same discussion. Retired? Crash just started, thats some retirement plan mylot gave him! Updating rules??? OMG, I still dont understand the ones now.

Well I am not aware of ever breaking the rules. I have never had a discussion deleted but I have lost posts occasionally when a discussion I commented on was deleted. I have read the rules very carefully and tried very hard to follow them but sometimes discussions are deleted that in my view do not violate any rule. I think they just annoy someone who them reports them to get rid of them. There are some people here who are troll. I find that most of the discussions that are deleted are in the money making area and the mylot area. I have started avoiding them lately but sometimes I will answer a discussion there if I think it is ok.

You made a very good point, most posts in those category do get deleted. Huh, the two things everyone is interested in, money and how to earn on mylot. Thats great you have not broken the rules yet.

Well I have been here for over a year now and I take the rules very seriously. Maybe too seriously but I wish there was something we could do about the people who attack other users and get harmless posts deleted.

Honestly, I had to go thru guidelines all over again not long ago cause I was starting to get confused. Turened out it's against the rules to copy someone's discussion-that's pretty understandable. What about asking the same question which strictly is not the same-if you use different wording and clarify yourself? Pretty much all the questions in the world have been asked one way or another. I guess I might've broken a couple of rules out of ignorance and I agree with you-seems like there's only a few things to say:)

Thats exactly what I was thinking. Someone might have discussed a topic YEARS ago. What about the newbies? They have many questions. What if you are typing your post the same time another mylotter is? That can happen. I dont think most people mean to break the rules on purpose, just frustrating sometimes.

I started the same way, just responding. Jump in any time you feel like it and have some fun. Best to reply until you have something to say. No problem with that at all.

Guilty! i am guilty! Yes, somehow, i was able to break a rule! But i would say the minor ones only. I guess everyone's a little more patient to newbies like me? Well, I am not saying that's an excuse, of course! =) Interesting topic!

Most are very patient with newbies if we see they want to learn. There are also some newbies that just dont care at all about breaking rules.

No apologies necessary here. Have you ever seen one of those posts that start out with "this post may be deleted but...."? Hows that for honesty.
