Roast Turkey.

Now, this may seem a silly question, but I would like to know why during Christmas, Christian always have a Roast Turkey as their main dish ? Why not roasted Chicken or Roasted meat ? I can understand the plum cake and pudding, but I always wondered about roast turkey. Any Answers ?

i am catholic christian but dont eat meat has wings like chicken or turkey.my christmas eve dinner was tomato soup for entry then main food is steak with pepper sauce with green salad and french fries.the dessert is strawberry ice cream.
