if you were accused of something terrible. A while back I was told I had said something very bad to a black person, I didn't say anything at all. It made me sick inside. Now I'm afraid to speak to anyone because I'm afraid of being accused of doing something I didn't do.
does anyone have any advice on how to get past this?

It always sucks to be accused of something that you didn't do. The thing is you cant completely stop talking to people. If someone mentions it, simply explain that you didn't do what they're accusing you of. Let them know your side of the story, your point of view. I'm not trying to say that it's going to be easy, or that they're all going to believe you immediately, or anything like that. But so long as you know the truth, that's all that really matters, in my opinion. If you didn't do it, then you didn't do it.
