I find that a lot of people send forwards to friends. it acts as a filler when you can't send a mail, but forwards can become irritating if they are not sent properly. have you ever got fed up of forwards? When i get a forward, i get irritated and just delete it if it contains a forward within a forward within a forward going many layers down. in fact I got a few forwards which went 15 layers down. how boring to scroll down a list of senseless email address till i finally reach the actual forward. When you finally reach it, you find that it was not worth the effort of scrolling. How would you like to receive a forward?

I am never in the habit of sending forwards nor do I like anyone sending them to me as the inbox gets cluttered. There is just one person who knows what I will like and that person's forwards I normally open. The rest are deleted with due respect to the sender!!

As a matter of routine habit, I normally wouldn't send a forward to anyone in its original form most of the time. If it is either too interesting or of informative nature, I would edit it or copy and paste it as a new mail and then send them. It should also be taken as a routine coutesy or part of our normal etiquettes to delete the strings if at all we are forwarding a forward in its original form. It is not only bad manners but a violation of confidentiality when you have the e-mail Ids from which one has received such a mail to be given in wider circulation, which would not be appreciated by your friend or acquintace or whosoever it is. One shouldn't blindly press the Fwd link and add e-mail Ids. If we are so keen to send one, then we might as well spend an extra minute to delete the strings of Ids or edit it and send it as fresh. And giving a suitable Subject Heading to convey what you are sending is also important.

I don't mind as long as it's something worth my attention/funny/interesting. But it does get annoying when you see how many people it had been sent to. An email from your friend should be personal, not just some kind of soccer ball that gets kicked around. A friend of mine once forwarded me an email with the subject line "To the Only person I consider an Angel..." and I was puzzled. The reason is that he's not a romantic guy, neither am I and we've always been buddies. After a close look I discovered he forwarded it to me from a girl that sent it to another girl...etc. ONLY? Duh!.. :D

i dont open any forwards because i kept getting viruses.. but when i used to i would delete all the crap so that they just saw the actual thing i wanted to send on and not have them have to scroll all the way down

I don't ever send forwards. I hate receiving them especially the ones that say something will happen if I don't. My friends probably have received it already or they also hate receiving forwards all the time. It's annoying. It's like a spam you can't have filtered because then all the emails from that person will be blocked and sometimes they send you important things.
