What makes a religion the singular and correct belief system?

I am a rational person, believing that evidence is needed in order to substantiate claims. I have to confess, many times I thought about what sets a religion apart from other and verifies its authenticity as the singular and correct belief system... My answer so far would be that no "evidence" proven to be at least SATISFACTORY if I approach this research as a solely intellectual investigation. What makes you think that your religion is the one holding the 'Truth'?

as i was reading through your discussion, khayam, i got to the thinking as to where you are living right now and what your beliefs are as regards religion. i am situated here in the philippines and i firmly believe that i belong to the true religion that all the seekers are hoping and trying to find. for me, the true religion is the one which teaches the bible in its entirety. that will start with the first verse in genesis and ends up with the last verse of the revelations. there are some laws in the old testament which are still holding through to this day and age yet, there are some which were meant for the people of old only. however, all these are written for some good reason. and this is the reason why we must research through the entirety of the bible the entirety of God's mystery towards salvation. for you, i do hope that you will find the true religion that you are hoping for. i wish that i can share with you the one religion that i belong to. send me a message to this effect if you are interested to learn more about my religion.

Well, that's the thing about faith. If it requires evidence, than it's not faith. Faith IS evidence. Hebrews 11:1- Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen. Whether you are a Christian, Muslim, Jew, Pagan, Buddhist, Hindu, or Atheist... all of our beliefs require faith to some degree. But I can understand where you are coming from. In fact, I don't know where I would be if I had not experienced demon attacks in my past. I guess I brought it on myself, because at that point in my life (I was 15 years old), I wasn't sure what I believed in and was really questioning whether Christianity was the "true" religion just because that was what my parent's believed. Maybe God knew that I wouldn't be strong enough to believe in Him by faith alone, I don't know. But I feel that I have been given absolute proof that my religion - at least the Abrahamic religion - is the correct one through the spiritual attacks that I experienced.

With respect, I am not that imaginative.
