Are you doing anything different this Christmas?

I know we are, as we usually just spend Christmas day at home watching the TV. I was reading my local paper last week and I just happened to see an article about free ice skating on Christmas day. So I jumped on the laptop and emailed them asking if I could book places I could only book for up to four people. So I booked for my four eldest children and they emailed me back to ask for a contact number. Early on today I got a phone call to say that we had been successful and my children are now booked to go ice skating on Christmas day. Only my eldest knows what is happening as I want it to be a surprise for my other children. I can't wait to see their faces when they find out on Christmas day. What about you? Have you planned to do something different this Christmas?

There are a few things going to be different for my family this Christmas. We normally meet at my home on Christmas Eve but this year will not allow it due to some family not being able to be present on that day so we have moved the celebration to Christmas Day and I am still hoping that my huband can make it home in time. Presents are also going to be different this year. Only the child in our family, my 4 year old son, is going to be receiving gifts. In place of everyone bringing gifts I have asked everyone to pitch in on dinner. Once dinner is cleared away we will play games with a Christmas spin in place of Dirty Santa that we have played the past couple of years. I think these are the only changes my family will be making this Christmas.

I can't say that it was a plan to do something different, but this year we are not going to be spending Christmas with some parts of our family. My fiance and I are baffled as to why atleast with his family, but then again we also know that it is better to be jolly and not worry as to why someone does not wish to spend time with us on Christmas. My family has not had a traditional Christmas in years.

That is a shame i know how you feel tho my mother decided she no longer wanted to spend Christmas with us as she said it was too much for her if we went down to her house, so i invited her and my dad up to ours, to save her the work, but she refused to come. I hope that you still have a good Christmas and this does not spoil it for you.
