What is the generic alternative to Singulair?

when i had a different asthma doctor he was going to put me on generic singulair which would make me take 2 doses a day to match the 1 dose a day i was taking already of singulair.. but i chose not to take that and so i never got the name of it.. any one know what the name of it is called?? or a website i can go to that will tell of generic alternatives to medications?? my new asthma doc is the most difficult person and im way over due for a check up and well i have no medical insurance and need a refill before i may get it so obviously i need a cheaper medication if i can (but i dont want to try anything else because i have already been on others and singulair is actually working right now) so if i was able to call in and know the name already maybe they would let it slide or i could ask my pharmacist to call them and switch over the refills or something.. anyways if anyone knows the name of the drug or a generics website pleeeeeeease let me know
