When you use your lap top in your house, do you plug it in the electricity socket and use it or do you do your work with just the battery. Do you watch your movies in the laptop.

I keep my laptop plugged in so i don't have to worry about the battery going flat. For movies on discs i don't use my laptop to watch cos i have a big television hehe.. Might as well make use of it as i dnt watch much tv. But i prefer watching shows on my laptop as i pay more attention to them while watching closer.

Hey, Ever since I have gotten my new laptop, I NEVER use the battery unless I have to. I mean...right now as I am typing this, there is not battery in it. I have heard that if you always keep your computer on charge all the time, it somehow wrecks the battery. That is why I don't put in the battery in my laptop and just plug it in using the electricity socket. Yea, I also watch movies on my Laptop but I dont really watch them that much.

Thanks for the response Eliteuser, but if you are removing the battery and using the laptop with electricity, what is the fun in having a lap top, you can very well go in for a Desk top model. Lap tops are meant to be carried out and used on the outside.

Since I prefer the laptop to the desktop,I just use it even while I am at home, and I let it remain plugged ,since it gives a brighter image than when working on the battery.

Thanks for the response luoke1. Regarding the brightness, you can have the same brightness even if you work with batteries, the only minus point is, the batteries get exhausted in just under a hour.

That's not to good as one has to charge for some hours, only for it to be consumed up under an hour.

I plug it in in the electricity socket not only at home but also whenever I got the chance to do so. :) I found it easier because I don't have to worry about battery low. This lead to satisfaction of using my laptop longer. Hehe. Since I don't have DVD/CD player for movies in my house, I watch movies by using my laptop. It is easier also because I can do it while sitting and even leaning on bed. Have a nice day! :)

I usually plug it in the electricity socket, although some people said it'll be better for the battery if we use the battery and re-charge it only when the battery is going to run off. I just find it more convenient to use the electricity, instead of the battery. Sometimes, I do watch movies with my laptop, when I want to watch movies in my bedroom. It's comfortable and relaxing to lie on the bed and watch movies.

In my country, electricity supply is not constant so I can't risk leaving my laptop unplugged simply because I have to bottle up as much power as possible. If I were assured that I won't lose power supply, I think I'd love to give my laptop some time of rest from charging.

eseomame, you are from United States, and you say electricity is not constant. In my state TamilNadu in India, just about two months back the entire state was reeling under a power cut of 8 to 10 hours per day. Thanks for your response.

I guess it's nice to use your laptop relying only on the battery but, if you are watching movies or playing games then I think that it would be a better option to use the powersupply that comes with the laptop otherwise you battery will be running out really fast. Andrew
