New mate for my duck!

We have had our Pekin duck Daisy for since Easter. Her sister was killed by something so Daisy was left all alone for quite some time. We became really good friends and family with here. She is more of a pet than a work animal. Recently we were able to get a mate for her. His name is Donald and he is a Super Pekin Duck. They were introduced to each other this weekend. We had to quarantine him for 9 days before putting him with her. Now they seem to be getting along great. Does anyone else have Pekin Ducks?

We have 2 Pekin Ducks - Alli and Alf. They came to us as rescues because someone was just going to leave them to fend for themselves. Alf loves Alli more than anything. He is constantly by her, protecting her and when she wanders off with the other ducks he just stares at her. Alf is very large and does have problems walking and they are both showing their age. We've had them for over 2 years and they are absolutely wonderful

Pekin's have such wonderful personalities. Daisy is so much happier to have her mate. We introduced them to each other and let them hang out together during the day, then they were placed in separate pens at night. The pens were side by side so they slept as close together as they could on the chain link fence. They have since started spending the night together. They are so cute and he follows her around like an old man. I am glad to hear that you rescued Alli and Alf. They sound wonderful. Happy MyLotting!

My sister used to have a duck a few years ago and it made a lovely pet until something killed it, a fox I think, if I had a bit of land i would love to have a duck, her little duck used to follow her all over the property, and even got on with the dogs and cats, she was a lovely little thing.

Yes they do make great pets. Ducks have such personality! Those blasted foxes are so evil! They see a free lunch. Thanks for commenting!
