Have You Ever Searched For Yourself?

Do you ever go to your favorite search engine and do a search for your screen names you use on different websites? Have you ever searched for your real name? What have you found? If you have not done this, try it sometime. It is very interesting sometimes the kinds of results that come up. You can also do a search of some of the tags you use here for your discussions. Or even better, try searching some of the tags other people have put on your discussions. What will you find? Now that you have tried this, let me ask you one more question. Do you have other websites that you use to try to make some income no matter how big or small that income may be? Do you think the tags used on your discussions here have any effect on traffic to your other sites? Choose your tags wisely, friends. I prefer not to use tags on my discussions. I have seen what it does to my other sites to use the tags and what it does in the search engines when trying to search for my other sites. Originally I tagged all of my discussions, but when I was doing searches for my other sites, such as my blogs, they were being crowded out by the discussions I have done here. Lately, I have discovered that anyone can add tags to anyone else's discussions. When I found that out, I posted a discussion about it that got deleted very quickly. (This one might go the same way so don't post a response if you are concerned you may lose points gained by posting here. Just ask yourself the questions.) After reading over the tags other people have added to my discussions, I have decided to leave this site. Since I have no rights over my tags, I have no way of preventing search results from being crowded out by my discussions other than to stop making anymore discussions and leave the site. Unfortunately I also found out that I cannot delete my profile and all my discussions and responses will remain here so anyone can continue tagging them at will. That in itself wouldn't be a big problem except that not having any control over what tags are used can cause my name and my discussions to end up in very unappealing places in the search engines. For anyone trying to create for themselves a reputation of one kind on the web, their reputation can be totally shot by the tags people add to their discussions. Tags benefit this site as they do all websites. They draw traffic to this site...more readers...more members, etc. It is not likely that the policy here will change. Unless enough people feel the same way I do and take a stand. For all of you who are on my friends' list, I have enjoyed spending time here discussing all the different kinds of topics. It has been good to get to know how other people think about things. If this gets deleted, I hope you all had a chance to read it first. Check your tags. Search for yourself in the search engines. Search for your tags in the search engines, including and especially those tags you did not add but someone else did. And if you find nasty tags some troll put on your discussions, report them. I guess that will be taken care of. In the meantime, I am sticking around long enough to try to reach my payout for this month. Then I am gone...unless policy is changed by that time.

I have. Its wierd what comes up. I thought my name was rare, but there are a few people that share my name. So that seems pretty cool.
