five years physically separated and you can still stay married? Can you really call it a marriage anyway?

A couple who are 5 years physically separated can still stay married if the separation is forced. Otherwise it can be said as a non-marriage. In my religion in the case of one partner leaving without consent the other partner has grounds to ask for a divorce after three months and ten days. Of course a divorce would not be given straight away. Investigations would be made and reconciliation moves initiated because divorce is frowned upon. It is the same case of a voluntary separation. In the case of forced separation a wife may file for a divorce if there is no news after a reasonable time (have to ask the judge about this) and there is a high possibility that the man has passed away. In cases like this most women prefer to remain loyal in the hope that their respective husbands return home intact. I have heard of a case where a man was unable to send any news and returned home to find his wife already married to someone else. all the best, rosdimy

As far as I know its seven years of no contact at all you can declare your marriage annulled if you can prove to the court that you have no contact with him whatsoever. But if you still have contact with him then its not supposed to be considered a annulled as of yet.
