I am having some sight problem for the past one month. My doctor advised me wear specs but my colleagues said if you wear specs, a scar will be formed at the top of the nose due to it. They forced me to wear contact lens. My parents say, wearing lens is not good to health. I am in deep confusion to choose which one?!!

Even if you chose to wear contact lenses you will still have to wear glasses, because with contact lenses you cannot keep it in your eyes for very long time, you need to let your eyes have some break/oxygen. I have been wearing contact lenses for the past 8 years and have never had any problems, i make sure i clean it everyday and when i am in the house i wear my glasses. I don't like wearing glasses but have to to allow my eyes to have some breaks from the contact lenses. My glasses is a very light one so doesn't have any pressure on my nose and doesn't leave any marks/scar on my nose.

I wear contact lenses during the day or when I go out but if I'm just hanging out at home I wear glasses. As far as a scar on your nose... pads will eventually leave indentations on the sides of your nose but no worse than a wedding ring that has grown too small or .... I can't think of another good example. But the bridge shouldn't really touch your nose if your glasses are fitted properly. And contacts nowadays aren't really bad for your eyes. Not like they used to be. They have all kinds of breathable lenses and one-day use ones. One thing to remember is if you are sick, wear glasses as much as possible and throw out your lenses when you get better because they hold germs and can make you sick all over again

The mark on your nose only happens if you don't have a good nosepiece on your glasses. It also could happen if you don't give yourself a sufficient break from wearing the glasses. As far as the contact lenses, the only reason they wouldn't be good for the health of your eyes is if you don't wear them right. If the contacts are worn incorrectly, they can ruin your eyes, which would make them worse. If you don't take proper care of the lenses, they can ruin your eyes. If you don't give yourself a sufficient break from the lenses, you cold hurt your eyes. So in the long run, if you're going to wear contact lenses, also get a pair of glasses as a backup for when your eyes need a break, you just don't want to wear you glasses that day, or you just can't wear your lenses because you've lost one or something. If all you're going to wear is glasses, the whole paragraph about lenses is a mute point.
