Four animals rights activists have been found guilty of blackmailing companies who supplied Huntingdon Life Sciences. Gerrah Selby, 20, Daniel Wadham, 21, Gavin Medd-Hall, 45, Heather Nicholson, 41, and Trevor Holmes, 51, were alleged to have orchestrated a campaign of terror which ran between 2001 and 2007. All five denied conspiracy to blackmail but Selby, Wadham, Medd-Hall and Nicholson were found guilty at Winchester Crown Court today. Holmes was cleared of the charge. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1100822/Animal-rights-gang-guilty-blackmail-campaign.html I believe that extremism is always wrong. Blackmailing someone is not a right thing to do. Do you believe that these methods are justified?

Blackmailing is never right and can never be right.. But alot of ple are doing it just because of 'face' and reputation.. PLus, some sees blackmailing as a source of income, and for those being blackmailed, they just wanna keep a low profile about things.. Actually in my mind, i'm also thinking that even politicians are using blackmailing too to get what they want, but they just used another term for it, such as 'helping out'.. lol

I don't believe that terrorism is every right, and neither is blackmailing is just profiting off of others.

No....I don't think that's the way to handle things like killing doctors at abortion clinics....then you are just as guilty as the party you are trying to change....you are right.....it's never right to use extremism.

This is terrorism by another name. Terrorising people is not the way to achieve your aims.

Hi ronaldinu, Blackmailing people is not the anwer as its going about the wrong and does not justify anything, and also makes it that they are just as bad, it don't solve anything. Tamara

I agree with you. A cause, no matter how noble, never justify the means if they are done through violence or coercion. People who use extremism are just as bad as any criminal they're fighting against.
