Have you ever snooped on your co-worker, boss or neighbors online?

I just got call from my daughter who said herboss just FIRED a co worker fo using he office computer and looking up employees property taxes and divorces online (during work hours) and she had been warned before.... I guess some folks don't learn. I guess there is lots of stuff you can learn online, bu what good would the info be? who rely cares if our nighbor got the house an the dog in tier divorce or pay thier property taxes on time?

The internet makes it so easy to be nosey but it seems unethical to me to look up other people's personal information online, and especially coworkers while you are at work. What someone's house is worth, whether they have a criminal record, their divorce or other civil legal information should be private but, unfortunately, it's not. An employer could be subject to a lawsuit for not having policies in place to discourage this kind of snooping and for not enforcing them.

Iagree, what would be the value other than invading anothers privacy! That is just wrong in my opinion! As dor the Dr my daughter works for, he does and that is why her co worker got fired! Sad two days before christmas to get canned....
