My husband came up with this theory and wanted me to post it on mylot to see what YOU have to say. It does make a lot of sense but so very sad that it could be true but how do we prove such a thing? I guess we don't. Here's his theory.... Everybody lets pick an age group to reference 40 to 70 year olds. Their parents didn’t have a 401 k plan thing in existence but they could have invested in stock market but like myself, they more than likely didn’t know how. But, along came these 401 k plans where you or your work place could invest for your retirement. Now to present time, after decades of investing in your 401 k or stock market, its time for this age bracket above to retire. The people who handle the stocks and bonds could see millions of people getting ready to retire. Which means the workers with the most knowledge in their fields were gearing up for their retirement now after years of investing into the retirement plans it was their turn to become the payee rather then the payer into these plans. The people who handle the stocks and bonds again can see the retraining of new people cost plus, the cost paying out in the 401 k retirements and medical insurance. It was going to burn them so I think world wide they made a plan and undermined the world markets so not to pay out in these retirements, 401 k, and more. I think it was a coagulated venture for them to save their money so us little guys lose again. Because a lot of this age bracket above were on the edge of retirement and now looking at another 10(+) more years that they’ll have to work to resave what they had. I don’t think the Money Market world wide was an accident. I believe it was done on purpose from the people who handle the stocks and bonds. If someone could do a spread sheet on every 401 k and by age group it might come up and show this. But, know this, what is seen in spread sheets can be changed to add up the way the maker wants it to look. Math is funny that way. My old saying is “People can be asleep with their eyes wide open”. Trust is sometimes a hard thing. Ok now what do YOU say?

My thoughts exactly, I have been burned by this 401 K plan. And that isn't all I also got the short end of the stick when the company I worked at for 24 yrs went bankrupt and lost all my retirement money. I got burned twice in one lifetime. Now I am out of a job, old and broke. Only in America

OMG Chevee!! OMG.... I'm too lost for words other than to say I'm so very sorry!! Damn!! That isn't right at all!! You should get back at least what YOU put in! What the hell is the matter with this country? We're suppose to be self sufficient but yet we screw our own? Not only that but the money is there, it isn't like it's been shredded or burned so where the hell is it? I just don't get it but sweetie, I do feel for you!!
