For people who already knew me, the first thing that probably comes in your mind is.. "What???!!!You can't be that serious!" Yes, I am guilty of being a shopaholic. I might be "Rebecca Bloomwood" in flesh and blood. However, since my twin daughters are growing up big time, I really need to make adjustments (and I mean not just small adjustments but MAJOR adjustments) to provide them better things, and better life ahead of them. As early as now, I am collating different "sort-of-sayings" that will help me embrace frugal living by next year. I know this is a big step to make, but with sacrifice comes with a prize. Below are some of my thoughts that might serve as daily reminders. Some of them might be funny but then, intention will remain the same. Hope you like my list too: 1. "Frugality At Its Best" - blog by Margaux 2. Favorite Song - "The Art of Letting Go" 3. Favorite Singer - "Frugalicious" 4. Margalicious - my new display name in Im and YM 5. Favorite Motto - "Frugality is the Best Policy" More to come. See you all in 2009!

First, I am supporting you, not only because the economic crisis, but also for the twins.I will be the father of twins, so I can understand the pressure from life. As the parents, we want to offer good even better condition for our children. Hope they can live like other child well.So it is necessary to make the frugal plan on 2009. Hope you can do it well and insist doing it in the coming year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Oh yeas, I remember you! How are the twins? How's your wife? Thank you for feeling the same day. I wish you and your family well. I hope the babies and your wife will be on top condition always. Here's hoping 2009 will open doors for our babies and kids to live healthier and better. See you around! Thanks for the great response!

ha ha ha ha ha... those are all pretty good. Say, who sang the song "Frugalicious"? I have never heard of this song before. Same goes for the other song "The Art of Letting Go". Having a goal is a good thing. And with two beautiful bundles of joy to keep you focus, I am sure you will be able to meet your goals this coming new year!

Oh, the song Frugalicious is by fergie? I will see if I can get my hands on it. The other song too I will try to see if I can find it. Thanks for the information my friend. Now I can add two new songs to my listening list!

Actually, "frugalicious" is really "Fergie." She is the singer behind "Big girls don't cry". I just typed 'frugalicious" as a "humor" since I am adapting frugal living come 2009. Meanwhile, "The Art of Letting Go" is sung by "Mikhaela." it is really a nice song. check it out. it's cool!

Yea I know what you mean, I'm thinking about making some adjustments in some of my household spending too, I think I'm pretty frugal, but sometimes I do get a little carried away, so I'm hoping that this year I will be able to make a few little adjustments to lower some bills and stuff. well happy posting and have a happy up and coming new year.

They said that "prevention is better than cure." This might also apply in saving a few cents here and there and little adjustments every now and then with regard to electricity bills, gas, et al. i do hope you can share some of your best practices in terms of saving. if it worked for you, it might work for many mylotters too. really appreciate this response.

Instead of "50 is the new 30" or "Orange is the new black", perhaps we should say "Frugality is the new prosperity". Can I copyright that???? If anyone hears it in a movie - I WANT SOME MONEY FOR IT!!!! LOL

economists all over the world have warned us of an impending even worse economic situation for 2009...more difficult than 2008..well...lets hope that we can find ways of thwarting the bad economy by being frugal..we really have to tone down on many expenses...on spending etc...life has never been so difficult than now...many have lost their jobs...so i think that we have to do cost cutting and be aware of money saving means...we have to adjust to the effects of recession..this is heartbreaking especially if you have kids but everyone has to be taking part in being prepared for 2009...

...and part of adapting frugal living is training our kids to live within our means, not to spend too much, not to waste food, take care of their things..things like that. y'know little stuff like that may appear as plain too simple. But the effect may be worthwhile. Come 2009, not only adults should be emotionally prepared to face the battle...kids should be too. Thank you for this response.
