Should I create a new blog?

I've been thinking about this for a while now.... i hope you guys can help me decide. I have a personal blog that I religiously update. but... it is a personal blog, my personal journal, which i heard/read that if your blog type is more of a personal blog, there's less opps, unlike other blogs that cater to a certain type only like internet or shopping or travel. I've registered to some paid to blog sites and my blog is earning a bit, but not that much because there are not that much opps. Now I'm thinking of creating a new blog that only talks about food: food i've tasted/eaten, food i've cooked/baked. For the bloggers out there with more than one blog, what encouraged/made you to have more than one blog? I really need your opinion...

I have several blogs, each serves for different purposes. The first one I created is my personal blog, where most visitors to my blog is to read about my personal stuffs. I wrote about my dog in my personal blog when I first got a dog, then I figured out not many visitors like to read about dogs, so I decided to have another blog just for my dog. I know some of the pet lovers from my dog blog too. I also have another blog about programming, as not everyone likes to read about programming stuffs from my personal blog, so I decided to make it another blog. It may be better to have different blogs serve for different purposes, they are targeting different visitors.

you've got a point there. it's better to have a blog that targets a certain group of readers. thanks for your opinion. :)

well yes I recommend you to weirte a new blog and put also you can try to put a link to it in your old blog in order to make your visitors visit both

but i'm worried that i might not be able to update it often... :( putting a link of my personal blog to my food blog (& vice versa) would be a good idea thanks :)
