I am pleased with some of the changes made. I don't know there will be any discernible difference in terms of performance of the newly elected Congressional members.

Hopefully with the results things will change quite a bit in Congress and the White House as we need changes since Bush has been doing a terrible job. Let us keep our fingers crossed.

Yes, that is an excellent point that we all need to remember. It is the person or people and not the party itself.

One election I did find troubling was the loss of a GOP candidate who had the courage to vote against the war in Iraq and against a lot of the bills the administration enacted. In my humble opinion, that was one candidate who should have retained his seat. We had a true representative of the people in that fellow. I would point out it's not the party, it's the candidate who does the job once elected. To that end, the Democratics bear watching just as closely as the Republicans.

Most of the people I voted for lost, but I'm in an area where I pretty much knew that would happen anyway. However, I am overjoyed with the national results. It's shown me that Americans really do care about our country, both in present terms and for the future. I'm really excited to see what happens in the next 2 years. It's going to be good.

That is great that you have such optimism and hopefully we all will be just as optimistic and hope things turn around in the near future. :-)

I'm pretty happy with how all the Oregon ones turned out. :) I'm kind of looking forward to see what kind of changes will be made as well in Washinton with the swing of power. :)

Everyone but Governor that I voted for won their race. I'm pissed about the Governors' race though. I hate Rick Perry.

Yeah I was happy with my state's results. I'm hopeful that with the democrats now in control (in both my state and my country) we will see some much needed improvements. What do you have left if you can't be optimistic about the future?

yeah, i feel better about the results of the election results and it is about time, it took a long time but we finally go a "woman" speaker of the house, may be that this is a sign that we will get a female president, never know, but the winds of change is in the air.

Yes, I was and still is happy. I think it's about time the Democrats take over the congress and maybe pretty soon the white house as well. I don't know about everybody else, but I think it's time for this war to be over and our troops should come back home, let the Iraqiis take care of themselves. I know they can handle it all by themselves, they don't need us.
