Nowadays not only girls but guys have started wearing earrings,it has been the new fashion trend in the market.......let me share some interesting facts about earrings which are not known to everyone..
1]an ancient mummy in the Egyptian museum of Turin , in Italy ,sports two earrings on the same earlobe-apparently stating this trend has been followed from the ancient Egyptian time
2]some Etruscan earrings in about the 5th century B.C had special compartments for perfume......
3]in ancient Rome the amount of gold to be worn or buried along with mummy's was fixed by law.
4]when earring fell largely out of use in Europe in 1840's and 1850's{due to primary change in hairstyles that entirely covered the ears} women with pierced ears who didn't want the ear to close took to wearing simple earrings , known as "SLEEPERS" , to bed at night,,,,,,,,

It is interesting to learn the facts about the ancient time and ancient culture.
Our modern life is mostly based on the foundation of the ancient wisdom, but there are still so many things which are still puzzling us. Hope the unknown will one day come to light.

Hi, friend.
Thanks for sharing these facts to mylot community. I personally was surprised to learn of these interesting information because I never knew these before. But admittedly, what struck me the most is the trivia you mentioned in number 2. I feel that even then, people were quite looking for ways to make useful ornaments as to develop compartments for perfume in earrings.
But analyzing further of these types of earrings, I guess they ought to have invented large ones because I think that small earrings wouldn't be able to hold reasonable amounts of perfumeries. And if this assumption or conclusion of mine is indeed appropriate, I guess it's quite difficult to wear these kind of ornaments since they are big and they will tend to be heavy (with the perfume inside).
And speaking of innovations or suggestions on these earrings stuff, I'd like to see technology work on some of them. For instance, I'd like to experience having a set of earrings loaded with 'camera' features or 'recording' abilities; like those shown in some detective movies.
I believe my mind is getting hyper at this moment, so I'd better stop while I can, before I go into even wilder imaginations.

Haha~~ Thank you for sharing these interesting things about earrings. It seems boys are more likely to wear earrings nowadays than girls. I'm a college teacher, and I found several days ago that a few of my boy students wore earrings. This amazed me. I don't like boys to wear earrings. Maybe i'm still too traditional~~
