Are you the kind of person to give a dollar to the guy on the highway with the sign "Homeless"? I have been known to give some money to the homeless.

For me, when I see the people out there on the side of the road with the Homeless signs, I will access the situation. If I truly feel that they are Honest and really needing the help, I will sometimes offer them some $$, or buy something like a Coffee or something for them, but a lot of times these are people that do this type of thing for a living so I am getting leary of helping a lot of them anymore. We hear of people here in the Seattle area who have payed for their Condo's etc. this way so you never know unless you feel in your heart to help them if they are truly needing the help as well.

Wouldn't be me if I didn't. I used to cook for them and deliver hot meals at least once a week, but they've made that illegal here. I think that's one of the worst laws ever! Their condition could easily be yours or mine at any time. I want to help them, and I hope, if I become homeless, somebody will help me.

I do help people who are less fortunate than I am but I don't like handing out cash... If I had money in my pocket, I'd rather go buy them food... I've had some homeless guy ask me for money & when I told him I'd buy him food or even something he could use, like clothe or shes, & he got pissed off & walked away... I guess he was expecting cash so he could go get himself drunk or get high or something... I'm more than happy to help but I won't support someone's habbit...

no. i don't give money to a person who is standing there just waiting there for others to help him. he\she should work hard to get their life and then if i see someone trying so hard i will help them. there is no meaning in giving away money to someone. i want to see my money to be valued by even the person that get it. i have worked very hard to get each penny and i don't want them to be wasted.

My heart just pounds when I see homeless people. I can't help but feel sorry for them. I know I shouldn't but my heart breaks to see anyone less fortunate then I. None the less if I don't have the change on me I will keep my eyes overted so I don't feel so crushed. What i have done on numerous occasions is give them something to eat or water if they look parched.
