We do our family gifts Christmas Eve and Santa gifts and stockings Christmas morning. We have done this since I can remember. So that means we have opened our gifts already. Family was good to us this year. my daughter got the pots and pans set she wanted in hard anodized technique from mom and me. She got IPod headphones and an Ipod charger from mom and a bunch of small presents. I got a 8GB Sansa Sandisc MP3 player that is charging as I write this it holds photos, music, videos. I am psyched it is my first MP3 player!!! I also got some new dress shirts for work that I desperatly needed 4 of them!! Mom got a really nice tea pot thingy to make hot tea or she can pour it over ice for iced tea you use loose tea leaves. She got a lot of new books too.

we used to open them on Christmas eve, but now we just wait until the day after Christmas sales and give out teens money and let them hit all of the sales!!! They get more and get what they want. We always just spend christmas with family and they get gifts then and we have a huge meal and stuff. We have always tried to teach our kids to not put one day over another and that every day is God's day and to put family above gifts.

We would have christmas with the in-laws christmas eve and open gifts then. Then on christmas morning hubby, me and the kids would have our own christmas. Then christmas afternoon with the rest of the family. Now that its just me and hubby we still wait until xmas morning. I like have the surprise then. Instead of opening gifts on christmas eve. We did try x-mas eve opening once and didn't like it, nothing to look forward to on x-mas morning.

Merry Christmas, sweet. We don't do much of a Christmas being just can't afford to anymore. Hubby lost his job but we are making the best of it. We usually open family/friend gifts on Christmas Eve and Santa's gifts in the morning but we didn't this year. My daughter didn't even bring the issue up at all. We watched couple movies and now she's in bed along with hubby. No toys for my daughter this year but did manage to buy her a new Hanna Montana outfit along with 2 sets of pjs. Santa clued me in on her getting a pair of jeans and a toy from him along with a few items in her stocking. Just going to be a quiet day here. We rented quite a few movies to watch and might head to laundromat to dry few loads of clothes. Figured it would be empty tomorrow so can get in/out quick.

We had to scrimp and save and sell the dining room set to get Christmas this year. Also took advantage of a few easy pay options to pay things out over the course of 4 months. So that helped also. I hope you all have a wonderful time just being with each other today as that is truly more important than gifts. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

We had a nice time on Christmas. I have a desk and a Kirby vacuum I've been trying to sell and hoped they would before Christmas so I could get our daughter several gameboy games but they still here. Santa brought her one and she was thrilled with that. Poor game is going to be wore out soon the way she plays it. lol Thanks for the BR.

Hello, Its so nice to rad your post that you were able to get all gifts that you wished for. Well in my family, we usually open gifts on the Christmas Eve itself. Since we are only few, usually some other relatives who wishes to join us come over and celebrate with us. We eat together, play a few games for the children and wait for the eve to come then give presents and open them. I usually get what I wished for also and I love it when I see people happy when they see the gift that I gave them. The effort of thinking and wrapping it is the hard part of a certain gift. hehehe Take care and Merry Christmas =)

It was nice but a lot of scrimping and saviing to get there. mom had a few things ordered on an easy pay option so we can pay it out over time. That helped a lot.

We always spend Christmas eve with the family coming over, having a meal, opening presents, and visiting. Christmas morning, there will be a few gifts under the tree to open, and a quiet day spent at home.

It is just my husband and I now at home. So there is no special way we do the gift thing. What we actually do is wait until the grandkids come over and then the gifts are open. So this year it will be on Saturday the 27th. I didn't do a tree this year because I had back surgery and since our house is so small we would have had to put the tree by my recliner which would have interfered in being able to get up and down. Christmas is not about gifts but about spending time with our loved ones. I am not bah humbugging Christmas either. I think that Christmas is a very beautiful time of the year.

I got the surprise of my life. I got a new computer from my son and his girlfriend. I am using it right now. My old computer was old and soon to die so my son upgraded me. I am loving it a lot. They gave me hints and I could not even imagine what they got me. I was blown away when they gave it to me. My son works for Amazon.com and with his discount he got it cheap and he works in their IT department and was able to download programs for free. I am so lucky. From my daughter I got so good things also which I do appreciate like socks and a roaster for when I can this next year. My hubby got me a shirt and a sweatshirt. I do love them also so I can stay warm. I am sure thankful for a wonderful Christmas and wonderful family

We don't open any gifts before Christmas Day. To do so would just seem like cheating to me! We opened our presents slowly, so my kids actually opened the last of theirs on Boxing Day.

It's been a sort of a tradition with us - we gather at my sister's house every Christmas morning and have our gift exchange and opening 'ceremony'. The Christmas tree is always set up at her house, and most of our gifts are already placed at her tree. Her kids are always very excited - in fact her 6-year old son have been getting up too early the past 2 mornings. This year, we got the kids to present their gifts to my parents and help them open first, before they rush to open theirs. It was a lot of fun - I especially enjoy the laughter and joy of these gatherings every year!

We all get together and open our gifts on Christmas mornings, then we all eat brunch together and everyone have the evenings to visit other friends or relatives that did not make it to the brunch. I hope things turn out good tomorrow we are expecting rain in this area.
