I only have 335 MB free space on my computer. Is my computer going to crash? I have a bunch of files I can't lose too. So what happens whenever I am down to 0 MB...?

Based from experience, i never had the chance to reach 0MB because my computer forced me to delete some files to be able to copy some new files. My harddisk crashed and damaged maybe because it's got a bad sector in the last portion of the disk. I advice you to back your files up by burning them on DVDs.

it is a good idea that you have shared, modstar, as regards keeping dvd copies of important files. i have never had a habit relative to this. just felt so confident about the harddisk nowadays with such big storage spaces. definitely, i will considering doing as per your suggestion. i have learned from and i should state here my gratitude for it.

Thanks for the appreciation Trinidadvelasco! It's really best to keep a hard copy of your files like on DVD where you can access on any computer. I learned my lesson well. I've lost a lot of memories like pictures and videos because my hard disk failed.

Hey friend I have a solution for you here. You can increase your hard disk space by following these way- 1. Go to 'Run' in 'Start Up' and type 'temp' and enter. Now delete all the files. Don't worry. This does not harm your system. 2.Now type '%temp%' and delete the files which you can and leave whichever you can't. 3.Now type 'prefetch' and do the same. 4.Lastly download TUNEUP UTILITIES 2008 software from net and install it in your system. Then open it and free up your disk space. According to my experience, I think a number of system restore points lowered your hard disk space. Don't worry, tune up will surely help you solve your problem. Thank you and have a nice day.

Wow! this is useful! I was having issues about the TEMP because i just don't know what to delete, if it's safe or not. At least now i know it's safe and i now know how to run it.

once you have reached 90 percent consumed harddisk space, your computer will find it difficult to process your documents. it will take you time to start up and shut down your computer. eventually, when the load is too much, you cannot no longer make use of your computer at all. perhaps it is high time for you to buy a new harddisk. secure one with the highest storage space. it seems to me that you have so many files which are all of some importance. in that case, just simply buy a new hard disk to fit into your computer. then ask the technician to teach you how to load the harddisk in and take it out. this is just in case you will need to open the files in the filled up hard disk and you are already using another one.

Realistically you're pretty much at 0 anyway. your computer needs hard drive space even if it isn't storing new docs. it uses empty hard drive space as virtual memory to help your computer run faster. so if you have little or no extra space, your computer will not be running as fast as it could. you need to back up all of your docs onto cd or dvd and remove the unnecessary ones from your hard drive. Or, buy yourself a larger hard drive. they are not very expensive these days.

your system won't crash but it will be slower.actually,it's recommended to keep the hdd free space above the 200MB. there are other things where you can keep your files like cds dvds usb ... have a nice day.

Then you may go for a hard drive with more GB.What is the present capacity of your hard disk?It seems you have dumped up more to your disk.See to it,whether you have downloaded so many things which you use once and never tuned back and delete all those files.Only keep the softwares you use frequently and get rid of all the others. This will do much better. And I dont think you will end up with 0 mb left.Because you will be adviced to clean up some space if you are running out of memory.Cheers!

To the start-all programs-accessories-system tools-disk cleanup this tools can help you to solve it. If you down to 0MB, the system will tell you the error message. and tip you to cleanup the disk. It's nothing intensity.
