I don't suffer from bad breath on a normal basis. However, i realize whenever i awake each morning or after a nap, i find that my mouth has a funny taste and my breath does smell stale. Why does that happen? HAve you experienced this before?

Hello, regal_aeros. I have, too, noticed about this bad taste. Many people, when they just wake up, have a bad smell coming from their breath. It does not happens always to me, though, but it does sometimes. However, nobody notices, because as soon as I wake up the first thing I do is going straight to the bathroom to brush my teeth. It has become a habit already, and, therefore, nobody will ever complain about my bad breath. I'm not sure. It could be related to being hungry. Have you ever noticed that, if you are hungry, you will have a bad breath? Try to notice about this, you will see that it is true. Not at all times, though, but usually you will have a bad breath if you are hungry. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

Hi, regal_aeros. I think this is normal. Every one has bad breath after waking up, i think this is why we always have to brush our teeth and drink much water after waking up. Sometimes i find myself have bad air too if i don't speak for long time!!! Happy mylotting and have a nice day!

That is like a natural thing... i also do not know why... but i think it has something to do with brushing the teeth and the last item of food we ate before going to sleep... we should also consider if we have decaying teeth... that certainly contributed to the bad smell when we wake up...

hi. Yeah i experience it when I wake up in the morning but not on noon naps or something. It all started on my first tooth extraction. I am not comfortable to swallow the blood from my gums so unknowingly, the saliva accumulates inside my mouth that it stays there till i wake up in the morning. I don't know how but it stays there. That surely emits a foul odor. he.he.he Happy myLotting.

It is natural, I also usually have a bad breath in the morning. Not always, but most of the time. I think (but this is only some observation from mine) it is worse when I ate something late at night, and even more when I ate junk food. Also, when I got out, drunk some things, I tend to be a little thirsty when I go to bed and have a very smelly mouth and huge thirst in the morning. Drinking some water is the first thing I do then, mainly for myself to get rid off the bad taste lol. Clean teeth (also before going to sleep of course) also helps, and eating (depends what of course, I don't recommend you garlic LOL), if necessary I take a mint.
