I rented Mamma Mia Last night and watched it this morning.

OK-Let me just say that I used to laugh at ABBA and anyone who liked their music. ABBA was one of those bands I loved to hate..."DOT DOT DOT" until I saw this movie. It doesn't matter what mood you are in. Pop this film in and you're gonna be dancing up a storm. It's a total girly film, but I'm sure the boyfriend won't mind too much if you watch it with him on the couch. I am so glad I rented it and now want to see the musical. By the way, the director of the movie is the same director of the broadway musical. She was asked to direct the film. In the director's commentary she mentions she was nervous about taking on the film, but did it anyway. Go out and rent it already! You will love it!

My daughters and I saw it in the theatre this past summer. When we love movies, especially musicals, it is pretty much a given that it will be in the Christmas Eve box, which it was this year. We sat down and watched it right away. It was the first time my husband was watching it but of course he knows ABBA's music. I think he enjoyed it. We all loved it.

I wasn't what you'd call a huge fan of ABBA during their heyday but I seem to enjoy hearing their music more now than I did back then. I found myself wanting to see "Mamma Mia" from the first time I saw the trailer for it mostly because of the great cast but I still haven't seen it. Since it's now out on DVD and will no doubt be on HBO soon I'll seen it sooner or later - probably sooner.
