Every time i left the house i make sure i have like 100 Php or more than $2 inside my wallet. One reason for this is we really don't know what we might bump into along the streets and if we don't have any cash in our wallet what shall we do. what is the minimum around that you carry with you every time you left the house? do you carry with you big amount?

Lol, I am different from you in this sense, I guess. I don't like to carry any cash on me at all and most of the times, I don't even carry a single cent in my wallet. That could be that majority of the stores in Singapore accepts other modes of payment besides cash, and I have no difficulties paying off for something in any emergencies. Even when some transactions requires the use of cash, there are lots of ATM machines around us such that it is never an issue. The reason why I do this is because I am someone who is very prone to losing things. So, if I were to drop my wallet, at the very least I will just lose all my cards which are easily replacable with a phonecall. But, if I have cash in my wallet, then that is almost never recoverable. So, no habit to have cash in my wallet. The biggest amount I have so far in my wallet was around $1000, which was in my wallet because I was on the way to deposit it into my bank. And it was on me for a grand total of just 15minutes after receiving my salary for this month. That's the most it is to it! Well, happy mylotting!!

Hello angelia, i perfectly understand why you don't like carry cash around. In a highly developed country like Singapore you can always do that but here in the Philippines not all store accepts debit card so in case of emergency we always have to carry cash around. thanks for sharing. Happy Mylotting too!!

I can understand why people in other countries like to carry cash around their wallets, and that is because they have no choice, as in the case of your country. No worries about that. When I am in Malaysia, I have to carry huge amount of cash around everywhere I go too as the kampung area over in Malaysia do not accpet cards, just cash. And so, over there I have no choice too but to carry cash. But given a choice, I would still prefer cards over to cash. And I must say that when I was in Malaysia as well as in Thailand, I was super uncomfortable with the amount of cash I have in my wallet (I have around RM2500 at one point of time!) as I am afraid that someone might just take my wallet or I might just drop it and lose all of my money with no way of recovering the money! Thank goodness it did not happened! Well, happy mylotting to you too!!

Um,I rarely have large amounts of money and almost never carry cash but I make sure to have at least $5 on one of my bank cards. Just in case I will need food, smokes or my car breaks down and I will have to take a bus. I wish I could carry $ 100 around every day but even though it's Christmas, not all the dreams come true! lol

I feel very much uncomfortable when I'm to carry big cash. I only keep a bare minimum amount - something like $10 to meet up emergency bills, if any. Otherwise, I'm happy to use my DEBIT Card for most of the time.

I am not really comfortable with that. In fact I do not go out with less than that amount in my wallet. The cost of fuel alone is high so at most I spend around $5 for the fuel on my vehicle. I also have to spend for food during lunch. I don't necesarrily carry a big amount, just enough for at least 2-3 days standard expenses. The rest of the money is in my room and just replinish it every week by withdrawing in the bank.

Hello jpso138, that really depends on the lifestyle that you have. Good for me for send to and from work so i don't have to worry about the fuel expense as for my food i don't want to spend to much on it and there are a lot of budget meals sold at the food court at work. thanks for sharing.

You are right, we might need something whenever we go out, especially when I bring along my 2 kids with me. I really have to have some funds within my pocket. I usually have around PHP500 or more. But within our subdivision, PHP 100 will do... :)

I agree with you - I think it is sensible to always carry some cash with you. You never know when you might need it. I do not usually carry much, maybe just around 5 pounds for emergencies

Almost the same as you, unless i have to buy something or go shopping. But even if i'll be shopping for groceries or anything, i don't carry big amounts of money, just enough for what i intend to buy.

Yes, actually. Last week I went around with absolutely no money and with just my credit card. It's really bad, I know, but I'm not really inclined to shop these days. I'm also not too worried since I'm with my parents most of the time anyway. A few weeks before that, I went around with as much as 8000 in my wallet, because I kept forgetting to put the money into my bank account. I know it's really dangerous and that was why I was really paranoid at that time. It really varies for me, though I would say that I am most comfortable when I have about 500 inside my wallet.
