What anti-virus software do you use? Why? Free or paid?

I am using Avast! Home Edition which is a free software. My brother is currently trying out Avira Anti-Vir.
I am just curious on what you guys use for your computer. I read about other people's comments on different anti-virus softwares online.
I found out that these are the best free anti-virus softwares:
- AVG
- Avast!
- Avira
- Comodo
- Clamwin
- PC Tools Anti-Virus
- ThreatFire
If you use free anti-virus, which one and why? How do you find its performance?
If you're using paid software, what and how satisfied are you compared to using free software?

I am currently using NOD32 anti virus, its free and I get its lisences updated regularly.
First we had Norton on our old computer but, it was taking too much space so when we got our computer reformatted, we installed a new anit-virus software. I think it was Kaspersky which was also a good anti-virus since it wasn't space consuming and easy to use though, I wasn't able to make it last too long due to the license expiration.
Anyway, I still think Kaspersky is a good choice, I'm just using NOD32 'cause it free. (^_^")
