Now that CHristmas is almost over for most of us, will you miss all the anticipation o getting ready, wrapping gifts, shopping, seing family and friends, the cookies, and fugde, the christmas movies, show, music? I get a bit blue this time every year, can't wait for it to come, say I cant wait til its over, then miss it when it's gone... anyone else?

I miss christmas already! I do love the feeling of excitement that builds up towards christmas! I sometimes think that the anticipation is the best bit becasue christmas day comes and goes so fast.

I feel the same way. The preparation, work, anticipation takes a month or more. Then it's all over in one day. A day that is so whirl-wind busy that you really don't enjoy it. There are ways to simplify the day so that you can enjoy it more. If you are the main cook, try turning the meal into a shared event. You cook the main entre, and ask each of your guests to bring a side, or dessert. If you plan in advance you can even discuss it each year at dinner. Believe it or not, this works really well. Or you can plan a meal where all of the prep is done in advance. Something like lasagna where you can put it together ahead of time. My brother and his wife extend their own Christmas well into January. They buy eachother 21 gifts, most small $1 to $2 things, others quite nice. Then they each swap one gift per day. Personally I don't have the self discipline for that, but every year I think about it...lol.

wow, that i a coo idea. I shop throught out the eyar here and there, it saves time and money, but you are right that the month before is the best time for me as well.. and then it's gone!! Or at least if feel that way, fewer smiling people, less kindnees shown towards other,no magical santa to watch childrens faces light up with hope and anticipation... I do love to interact with children during the holidays! I try and find other ways to engage that sweet inocense ith children, but there is truly something specail about christmas for most!

It truly is sad that the good feelings, fellowship and of charity cannot be be with us throughout the year. The whole world would be different I think, if we could all keep the spirit alive 365 days per year!

We share the same feeling, but I am not that very gloomy. I am just sad thinking that it will be another year before Christmas is here again. We are still very much intoxicated with the happiness of our family Christmas party and the gifts and of course the late night sleeping. But we have to move and now we are preparing for the New Year's Eve. And then after that a fresh new year when we do not know what will be happening. I hope all good things happen next year and everyone will be safe and healthy, including you:-)

Thanks for the reply. That discribes what I feel too, at least there is next year! We don't do uch for new years, too many people drinking and driving for me. Plus we are not much into the party scene. If Iwe to go any where it would be to First Night at Church, But I really would rather snuggle with my hubby and watch TV or a movie and go to sleep!
